are there any switch live wires in the engine bay which is adequate for the the relay on a water injection set up. doesn't have to be a powerful one. just dont want to hook into an ecu or important one. what about one under the passenger side.?

just open up the ECU box and feed a wire from the fuse board and pass it through the box..safer that way..and it,ll be fuse protected..

I have seen neat little hole drilled in, and then a nice gromet to seal it.

lift the ecu out. then drop your wire down the hole. With a bit of luck you'll find it near the brake pedal. or if not drop a straightened coat hanger down then tape your wire to it from the inside. Then in the engine bay retrieve your coat hanger.

i can get the wire into the car. as you've said . but how do you get to the back of the fuse box. it seems encased in a metal chassie, and a load of trim. with no obvious screws...

Isn't the 75X terminal a switched live which you could use instead?

Have a look at the install instructions for the AWE boost gauge here - http://www.awe-tuning.com/media/pdf/ventgauge.pdf (300kb)
Step 11 shows you it, its where I have my gauge wired here for the lights and it only comes on with the ignition.
Its just in the fuse box area by the drivers side, just drop the lower panel down to get at it.

Once you have wired it in, should you drop in an in line fuse and switch in to be safe? Not sure if it will be fused.
