Best 18" wheels for the B5 S4 - Light Weight

Hi Guys,

Well I have a real issue today, had a flat, turns out the tyres insides of my new(ish) F1's are totally worn to the point the rubber has cracked and split leaving canvas. The centre is absolutely fine with LOADS of tread... the other front tyre is exactly the same!! Seems the alignment is out, which was done just recently so I need to speak with the co that did that... fortunately the tyres did not result in a blow out at speed!!! Else I may not be writing this now...

Anyway, so rather than buy new Tyres, I would like to get a set of 18's. If you are aware of specifically light wheels (Oz Suplerleggars (sp??) BBS LM etc) can you shout so I can check them out. If you have a set of 18's for sale I may be interested too... drop me a line :)

Thanks,

Leon, just raise the ride height 20 mm to correct the camber and you should be fine.

Oh & take it to RS246 live. A bit of 'track' use evens out the wear :nodder:

I fancy some 18's, they will be Superleggera's of some description when I do.

Team Dynamics Pro Race are pretty light. Depends how much you want to spend.

Ultraleggers are a little better looking than, Suplerleggars. IMO, the spoke goes to the edge and gives the look of the wheel being a little larger.

the weight is ni on the same... they don't make supers anymore.

I know a place that does them for £800 to your door. 8.1kg I think not meany wheels are near that at that price, please prove me wrong people, I have looked hard for a 8" 18" et35.

another choice that looks like a 19" but is an 18" if you know what I mean is http://www.select-alloys.co.uk/ats/larg ... mp_fix.jpg

I've seen magnesium ATS DTM Comps, uber light and very strong but a nightmare to keep clean.

I don't like the Ultraleggeras, I agree with you Adam.

I've looked at your Superleggeras & they look great. Silver for me though I think, but I'm not sure ? Can you still buy them new? Paz has some & I hate him for that :nodder:

Edit: How low do you run your car Adam ?

Superleggera's rock!!

Nice wheels son! I don't normally like BBS's (too "busy" with the spokes) ... but they're damn fine!

The S4 needs non-spindly wheels, in my opinion.

Don't magnesium wheels behave badly on impact? I heard something about possible shattering. I supposed it depends on the composition, but I can't imagine that being a bonus in an event, or when just hitting a lump of something in the road, or a deep pot-hole.
