does anyone know where I can get a few mm taken off the inside of my wheels? id like to get them to fit completely inside the arches to that I can get it lowered without risking it rubbing. preferably somewhere in the Southwest as thats where im based.

Or even pop in to Halfords down Marsh Mills and ask where they get theres down. Was once told that they hold a pool stock(obviously various PCD etc and could have them machined to the offset depending on vehicle fitment. Don't know how true this is. Will dig around for a few more...Like Weld Spray Engineering up at Morval. Real old school but did have some big lathes. Straightend a mates wheel for me really well and super cheap. Found em. Callington to Liskeard road, left at top of hill roughly half way.

What size are your wheels and offset?

I think you might find as you lower the car the angles of the suspension components will move the wheels further into the arches.

Are you running standard hieght at the moment? My wheels are the same spec and do fill the arches but also do seem fine. I'm not as low as some but I know people who run this spec and are low...

yes standard ride height at the moment. my wheels look like they stick out about 3mm or so from the arches, with the current ride height its not been a problem, but I think it might become an issue if I lower it at all. I have got hold of one place that are able to do the machining but dont want to because they say it might not be safe with the close tolerances wheel manufacturers use ie it might make the wheels too weak

Might be worth seeing if anyone is near you running a lowered car to try your wheels on?

Must admit I'm running 225 tyres on mine. I seem to remember you are running 235's? 225's will obviously help

yeah theyre 235s, but I was told that I shouldnt go much smaller on 8.5j rims as the normal tyre size for these is 255 as on the RS4!
Leon is near, im sure he will want to try my wheels, if nothing else it will save him shredding his own tyres when we go for a spin!

Good idea. He's running nice and low.

The 225's on mine do look stretched but it does hold them nice and firmly in place. The rim protector also seems to be kicked out because of the angle of the sidewall so giving better protection to when I was running 8" wide wheels
