has anyone used the handmade stainless steel manifolds made by xs power ?,they have a website and are also for sale on ebay for £150 a pair with free delivery !!,im no good with computers so dont know how to post a link.

better with cars

also does anyone know where to get k04 turbos at a good price ?

every1 seems to slate these manifolds saying the welds crack and basically they are <beep>, but in my opinion this company welds stainless steel all day long and any1 who can hand make a manifold like that knows wat they are doin. it aint easy!

Well I can only report what MRC have said about them - namely that the turbo flange's break off....

I have heard tales that these are actually made from different types of metal, and that they expand and contract at different rates - hence crackage.

AFAIK - these guys don't make the stuff they actually import it.

That said I was planning to buy some of their manifolds and use them as a pattern to get some proper ones made up and ceramic coated - maybe even make em for garretts......

FWIW - XS-power are an american company (north carolina) the eBay firm is the UK / Europe distributor for XS-Power products.

I have 1 customer that is using them in France, they are really cr@p and his have started cracking after 5k miles. Now each one to their own, if you want to save up a few quid, then just keep the stockers and be done with it.

Hmm, I think I may buy a set and analyse them. I mean for 100 quid, it would cost you that to get the flanges made up. Im gonna see if its possible to stengthen them and see if they are as half as good as they look in the pics.... Its obvious these manifold arent designed to carry the weight of the exhuast and turbos but you can add strengthening brakets for thet.... I might just suck it and see....

XS power do have a bad name, with certain things not fitting or lasting as they should, but....... i bought one there T3/T4 turbos and wastgates from them for a project i was doing, i sent the turbo off to my turbo supplier for a check, he couldnt fault it. as afaik its till boosting well, the wastegate needed a little tickle to get it to open fully, but no real major isues considering the cost.

i know of someone who used a complete kit from XS power, new manifold,turbo,wastegate etc, although he had fitment issues, and it took some fettling to get it fitted, it all worked ok.

i would be tempted to cut the head flange between each runner, to allow for some expansion, and brace the outlet flange. and check the thickness of the pipe work!

yep, I think if I get to look at them I should figure out what needs to be done. Ie strengthening brackets etc etc if any extra welding is needed. The V6 Bi turbo engine these are planned for isnt going in an S4 so if they crack its not a big deal to have them fixed.
