Rear seats have the wrong catch arrangement for the Saloon.

I'm giving it a go very soon. For the upper, the latches for the seat backs will need to be moved and re-welded on the car. If that doesn't work out, i'm going to take the rears and my original cloth rears to a local upholsterer and get them to make me a frankenstein seat (saloon bases with recaro foam and leather grafted on).

Good luck with that, let us know how you get on.

Does anyone have any EKTA type piccies of the difference ?

And do the difference vary - pre/post facelift etc. ?

Even if it takes a spirited session with a nail gun and many rolls of gaffer tape to hold them in place... they are going to fit!

sounds like a lot of work when you can just buy some recaros for the saloon & not have to mess around with them.

Well, i'm nearly there. Got some 4.7 Ohm resistors off fleabay and cleared the airbag warning code using Vagcom. Sorted!

As for the rears, it looks easier than I thought. The base is a straight swap. The uprights bolt in the same way as the saloon.

There are only two issues.
1) The side bolsters for the avant don't have an 'overhang' meaning there will be a gap of about 2"x3" underneath the seatbelt at the back. I can live with that.
2) The latch arrangement is different, but it should be a much easier job than I had earlier anticipated (welding/etc.). The saloon latch will come off with a couple of torx bolts.
Should be a piece of :piss: to fabricate something to bolt into it's place. When I get it done, i'll post up the dimensions incase someone else fancies taking on the task. Reckon a local welders should be able to sort it out for chump change.

Looking forward to seeing the results. I have wanted to do this for a while. Cant u just use the original saloon rear side bolsters?

You can if the original interior isn't grey cloth!

Whats the difference between an RS4 and S4 recaro interior.

I have the S4 recaro interior and cant tell the difference between them apart one.

The only differecnce I see is the RS4 emblem embosssed into the seats.
