Nitrous Kit - wizards of NOS - any experiences?

I have been looking at the Nitrous kits available and have seen quoted figures of 100 to 200bhp power increases for near £1000. Does anyone run a nitrous kit and what are the potential lean burn problems invoked by hitting the rev limiter (obviously a sh@t your pants situation for potential engine damage). I would be interested to know if anyones had a kit fitted because it seems like a relatively cheap way of getting a lot of extra pony.

Yep , i supply & fit W O Nos kit's , i've fited on loads of cars but not on my own (yet! ). I only fit wet kit's so you never run them lean . tbh nos is used lower down the rev range until the turbos come on song not neer the top end . £ for £ it's well worth it as i've seen some very good result's .

Ever fitted to a 2.7T grizz?

Thinking about it a bit more I think the 100 - 200bhp wouldnt be realistic on the 2.7t because I dont think the ko3's could take the quick boost - maybe 50bhp would be more agreeable with the ko3's. Id love to hear of somene whos pushed 100bhp+ through nitrous on the 2.7t. Would it require a better ECU to deal with the addiotional boost at 100bhp+ levels.

If someone's proved this route I think I would be swayed this way over a remap.

IIRC snowtrooper over AW used 75shot and 25psi with hybrids and gained about 136mph trap, no evidence yet though but sounds reasonable?

The same goes for the Polish car (Ozz) but with bigger shots and standalone.

Why would you need uprated turbos? The NOS is fired in after the turbos I thought?

Im not sure, I just assumed that you would be going through the rev range faster than the ecu could deal with and the turbos wouldnt have time to spool in the way they do normally. Who's going to be the guinea pig?

I really dont think it would make a difference. The nos simply makes the air that is already in the cylinder/inlet manifold cooler/dencer. It does not change the pressure that is supplies by the turbos, so I really dont think there would be need to change the turbos. The rate of acceleration will not exceed that of 1st gear, so I think the ECU should cope fine.

Interested to find out if there are 2.7t's out there running NOS

may i ask how long you had the 50 shot kit in the standard engine, i am interested in having it for street as opposed to track, presumably you had a brake upgrade as well! the 50 shot kits seem coparable in price to a generic map so apart from the cost of refilling the nitrous would you think that the nitrous is a better way to go?
