Tar-ox big brake upgrade....Any good?

Post by mrwang » Mon Apr 03, 2006 1:50 pm

I'm thinking of going for a Tar-ox 6 pot big brake upgrade using grooved 330mm X 30mm discs. It seems quite resonably priced at £1600 inc VAT. But does anyone out there know if Tar-ox are any good. Be greatful for your views, or any other recommendations. I know the MovIT upgrade is probably the best, but £2200 is a little over my budget.

Many thanks

Have you thought about RS6 Plus or new (B7) RS4? The parts (calipers, discs, pads) can be sourced for less than £1,600.

8 pot Brembo calipers, 365x34mm discs, Audi RS logo - there's a few of us on here who have gone down this route.

What car do you have Mrwang?

RS6 Calipers & Discs

Post by mrwang » Mon Apr 03, 2006 2:21 pm

Hi Clive

I've got a S4 B5 Avant 2001 facelift model, The one with the dodgy black wheels!!! I've bought a set of the 18" B7 alloys so bigger discs are now an option.
This sounds like an exellent move. I like the fact there audi parts. Where's best to get them from, Audi direct?

cheers Ben

You could put AP or Porsche ones on as well at that price.
