ok i need your help, got a high mileage 130k '98 fishing wagon (avant) and i think the box is on its way out, starting to crunch a bit in reverse, 2nd and 3rd. looking for any recomendations on who to go to to check it over and if it is the worst case scenario who to get to rebuild/replace. read the thread earlier this year on beds and herts transmission, if anyone has any input would be greatly appreciated. also any other mods/repairs i should get done whilst the box is out, was thinking of the short shift and one of the stabaliser options.
cheers

You don't say where you live - if in the UK, what town? If in the States, try posting on

Best advice I could give is to take the car to an Audi main dealer. Don't use any repairers who have no knowledge of Audi engines and gearboxes. You get what you pay for.
