Just happened to be reading some figures on another site and rememberred this thread.

C32s put out about ~280-290BHP at the wheels, need quite a serious S4 to match that.

My FATS converted to 302bhp at wheels...it was an estimate, using the VAST calculator....

but have you looked at AW... Arek's car ... 1000+bhp with a 300+ nitros shot on it .... standard rods/crank ... read both bits... :smile_smoking:

I don't believe in 1000 crank BHP with nitrous and will never believe it on on stock rods!!!!

Taken from the AW article:
Later, as a teaser, Arek informed me the car would be undergoing more testing in the meantime with a new engine setup. Three bars of boost or more, 10,000 RPM, and larger turbos would give hopes of over 1,300 horsepower at the crankshaft.
He has been there and done it, 9sec quarter mile on strips that no European would have the balls to run on IMHO. Respect the engineering!

Like the red rocker covers & IM. Seen a vid clip of the car and it is mental. Not useable though as a daily driver... must suffer awful lage and turbo possition is obviously not ideal... guess that is the only place they can put the turbos of that size.

Its a good post, i hope they follow it up, lots of tuned bits on it, but stock crank/rods...
It obviously possible they can get that .... but it aint no daily driver ...
The components used are gonna be blue printed, pressure/crack tested, maybe a mild balance too ..maybe even some heavy duty tuftrided coating on the shells, (it dont stop rods bending I know)
The 10,000rpm engine has specialised solid lifters on them to stop valve bounce and lifter collapse, no doubt thats also gonna be balanced components throughout....
So Minhea does this push you to get more than you thought possible out of stock bottom ends .... :bigwave:
or are you playing "safe" .....?? :smile_smoking:

I don't think there is any mention of stock rods, they say the block and the crank are stock but no mention of the rods, and I think that there's no way in hell they're stock units... Some canadian guy has just thrown a rod through his block in a GT25 S4 (but that could have been poor tuning too, I dunno for sure).

Honestly, even if I knew the poles have stock rods in that engine (but again I doubt it very strongly), I wouldn't push our engines more without uprated rods...

Your not alone Mate I also thought internals were stock. :bash:

Still a fine peice of engineering and if you read up on it goes to prove how many standard components can handle that kind of power.

guys..... arek is under no circumstances running stock rods and if you have been following his progress over the last 2 years you would know that from day one hes running crower rods and je pistons.. and now running eagle rods as they have a duel forging process....take a peek at "www.dragtimes.com" and search audi s4 should shed some light on it...
fact 1062nm of tourqe.. sorry but its true... the 300 shot of gas alone on an s4 would give you about 450lb,s

i have spent the price of a small house on my bottom end...
corrilo rods custom to 1500bhp and to rev to10,000rpm
je pistons custom to 1500bhp and to rev to 10,000rpm
the rest.... ah well still a bit of a secret for the moment but i will show you all some pics soon.. promise
and yes im running a 300 shot of gas too.....
and a turbo that will make you all feel im sick in the head..lol
like guiness "good things come to thoes who wait"
