Yes David, full contact - that band in the centre is the zinc coating which hasnt been worn away as the pads dont make contact there. Take a look at the front brakes of a new RS4 and you'll see the same effect.

Thanks for asking. Very observant of you.

Heres a couple of quick pics i took with 18" Oz superlegera's which i brought the weekend.

Car feels much better to drive seems more nimble and doesnt crash on rough roads.

Lightweight wheels are the way forward :)

I understand that the likes of these wheels and BBS (but not MTM) are almost half the weight of the Audi Ronals?

Not quite half, but 17.4lbs as apposed to 29lbs - it doesn't sound much, but it's a massive reduction in unsprung weight, and as a result the suspension is able to react much quicker.

Well 40% lighter then! But is the 29lbs the weight of the standard (Ronal) 17" avus wheels?

As you say Nige, will make a big difference.

I think the std 17" ronals are around 27lbs - not really fair to compare 17's & 18's tho - most ppl who upgrade will opt for 18"??

Yes, thats what I thought Nige - just making sure we're comparing like for like. So 29lbs is for the 18" (B6/B7) Ronals?

Here are mine,
BBS 18inch

This pic doesn't do them justice really,
Unfortunately I have our winter rims and tyres on now,

So I need to wait another month before I can put the BBS's back on.

Cheers
Steve

@Nige - any idea the weight of the 18" Sportecs? The thread in the Classifieds suggests they're 13.7kg - sounds a lot (30lbs)

Nice rims - BBS do some quality stuff. Would be my choice - although some Sportecs would do nicely
