not had any problems with the aircon fan removed. the other fan should work with the afterun mod - if it doesn't you need to fix that fan! Cars are getting close to the max cooling capacity though so removing the plate(or the holey plate) is a good idea - the higher power cars should have an extra water rad - and you can only really do that if you go front mount.

What sort of power are you talking about? Large output i.e. over 500bhp?

im sure that russel at RS fabrications could make either a better cooling rad or maybe a small rad to fit somewhere else to aid in cooling..
would it be of any benifit to have a front mounted intercooler with water from the engine running along the bottom and being cooled and act as a secondery rad..alot like the way that automatic rads work to cool the auto fluid..charge cooler??

Back in the 'old days' we were looking at a full mega size FMIC (quite a depth as well, taking over the full cooling rad space) and doing all cooling through two porsche water rads (plus a fan each) where the old ic's used to be - not so sure whether it was a good plan, but seemed to work on paper?

Cheers,

Andiroo

Does anyone else with an FMIC have supplementary fans or rads fitted (other than Doug)? I know Bret, Rich and Leon have FMICs....

Haven't done so yet. Keeping an eye on engine temps for the minute...

Taking temp out of the oil will help keep the water cooler.

I have not put the fans on, and so far I have not had any problems, the air con has worked fine. In fairness tho, I have not spent much time in slow moving traffic during the summer months tho ....

Just coming up to five years mate since we started looking at the bigger IC's against the FMIC (which hadn't yet been done back then), that's a long time in the tuning game IMHO

Anyone seen these......

http://cgi.ebay.de/Ladeluftkuehler-Audi ... dZViewItem

Looks exactly the same as MRC's and all for £275... not bad imo

I know it doesn't come with the connecting pipes but that can't be more than £100

I bought mine from here.

And I'v seen those in eBay 150$, but in USA. Here is an example.

I think those are the same coolers, just the pipings are missing.
