But thats just what they are. I wouldn't let them near my car. The place must have an average age of 12! Yes they are cheap, but they also have about 4 brain cells between them
Ah depends on if you mean the likes of Kwik Fit - who I wouldn't let near a pram wheel let alone my cars wheels.
I know the manager of my local Bathwick pretty well as I have been mates with him since I was at school (so quite a while LOL) and have been using them for years.
Never had an issue with them

Bathwick Tyres are my cheapest solution, but they scratched 2 of my wheels on my (your) S4.

That'll explain the bubbling paintwork on them then :D
I sold those wheels on last week as they where just taking up room in my shed and with another set on the way I will have to find room for the ones I have on the car now too. Missus would not be happy I am sure LOL.

Are there any problems with manufacture of the asymetrics? There were issues with the GSD3s being made in Europe (good) and China (bad). Is this the same with the newer tyres? :biggrin2:

The GSD's that were bad were a relativly few that were not E-marked and made their way into Europe I recall.

I doubt you will see the same issue unless perhaps buying from an unlikley/cheap source.

If you think hard about it, how often is it dry over here.... that is why I may look at the new Rainsport 2, it has only just come out, click the details tab http://www.conti-online.com/generator/w ... ht_en.html so would not be in the evo test. I know Brett used the older ones(I think) and liked them.

just had an interesting conversation with a bloke at camskill about the asymmetrics, he basically said that they are not a performance tyre and are not a replacement for the GSD3. they are marketted for 'mr mondeo' (quote) who wants a quiet tyre. he said that goodyear/dunlop are going to use goodyear for regular tyres and dunlop for performance tyres from now on but as of yet the dunlop part of the company hasnt released a replacement for the GSD3.

if this is true i may rethink my tyre choice! need some pronto tho. might just buy up some of the last GSD3's they are running out of.

I think the statments are rubbish. Goodyear have the Excellence, NCT5, Hydra Grip or Eagle Vector for 'Mondeo Man'

The Asym is above the F1 GSD3.
