just to big up MRC some more...i came back from them last week after having a basic health check (which turned up some nasties) and a generic remap. I thought is was a great car before but now! dear lord. The guys did a amazing job and any other company could have taken me for a long credit card ride but the guys are as straight as they come. Long and short of it the car is now crazy quick, better mpg and i cant drive it enought. Back next month for some H&R action (to many wobbly moments) They dont need my recommendation but what the hell get yourself there for all Audi work no question. :D

That's because they're as passionate and as enthusiastic about your car as you are! They charge for the work done (at sensible rates) and nothing more, and don't think twice about giving free advice. Oh, and they won't give you a list of things that really don't need doing...

Theres Awesome GTI in Manchester but iv never heard anyone rate them good or bad. The guys at MRC ought to start an 'Up North' venture 8)

Awesome GTI - a long way from Harry up in Scotland.
I do have experience of them, they're a good friendly helpful bunch, have a 4-wheel rolling road, and laser wheel alignment kit. Lots of VAG accessories, and UK distributor for APR I believe, but as the name suggests they specialise more in VW (especially Golfs) than Audi.

As for MRC "Northern branch", I've already suggested it! I also couldn't understand why they didn't want to set up in Yorkshire...!

We need to work on our Pizza cooking skills; or convert Doug and Mihnea to our staple diet of Indian curry

I have 4 pizza takeaway locations within a 5 minute radius of my house... we could use them as a tractor beam to pull MRC up north. I recommend home run pizza myself, plenty of cheese with not too much base.

Just out of interest, what makes you say that ?
All standard cars put out less than 265bhp. The Audi quoted figure was 265 PS, not bhp.

saf wrote:I was just confused on which chip to get. Thinking of a custom from MRC, or SKN / MTM. I went into my friends SKN chipped S4 yesterday and thats just extremely fast compared to stock. Felt faster than a MRC generic map which I tested on my car when I was there. So Im not sure whether to go for the MRC custom or a chip based ones.
It is difficult to compare one tuner's generic remap to anothers unless it is on the SAME car, because cars vary so much. In fact that is the whole point of MRC's custom remap, it is tailored to your specific car in order to get the best out of it. It is hard not to recommend MRC as being the best remap on the market at the moment (especially for the price), for this very reason.

Couldn't agree more. Went to see MRC this week and had a full health check. Thanks to Mihnea. Doug and Stuart! They certainly know their stuff and it is quite apparent that several main stealers don't!!

Clive I suppose in Leeds you are kinda juxtaposed between MRC and MTM @ Glasgow Audi - no rolling road tho.

Dippy if you are referring to custom remaps then any tuner worth there salt with give a good one surely not just MRC?

It would be difficult to find anyone else who can do you a custom remap for anything less than double the money MRC charge.
