Couple of ways....

Contact the previous owner(s) or post to the various forums, someone might recognize the car and know its history.

A VagCom log will quickly show if it is chipped. Open the ECU and look at the chip or the ECU is generally marked or labeled in some way.

In firewall, under bonnet, right in front of the driver, black box, 5 screws holding lid on it. If only four present (top left most screw when leaning over car from drivers side) , almost certainly chipped.

May not of been last owner who chipped it, mine was "standard" when I bought it, but had screw missing, chip was socketed onto the ECU, K&N filter and Forge DVs fitted.

Try vagcom locator if you don't have vagcom and get run logged....soon tell from that.

Had a look. 5 bolts, took it apart and it looks standard to me.

Anyone know of any nice places to visit in Banbury?
I could suggest a day out with the missus and park it at MRC!!

AFAIK mine's still stock how would it show up on VAG-COM ? but I can feel a trip to Banbury when funds allow after all the good reports from every one else on here ............. mind you I am due the 80k service
and her indoors did ask why I had to get it done at a local stealer's as 'it's only a car' her words not mine but she's quick to grab the keys to nip down the shops in it.

Maybe a combined service and remap could be in order..... sounds like a plan to me

MAF figures, requested and actual boost readings gives the game away.

I'm running an MTM chipped car, didn't experience a standard s4 so hard to tell, power delivery constant and feels hard, with a sharp boost throughout the mid range.

In this weather, the acceleration is enought to break traction if I'm booting it round a corner. Loving my s4 at the moment but am still going to sell it, have dreams of a sports car.
