What is happening in the GB on this one and how does it work - does the supplier invoice each individual and only release order once everyone has paid?

I may be interested in a pair of 4000S for the front of my 2001 S4 2.7 but it would need to be within the next week or so - going to France in July with the car and I need to get them fitted!

Are prices inclusive of VAT

5% discount IMO is not that much - could more be on the table?

By way of comparision on price only (!!) standard Audi disks are £135 pair and pads are £105 set from VAGPARTS with delivery about £10 or so inclusive of VAT.

Also, what is the cheapest price for a set of Pagid Fast Road pads for the front?

Last of all and purly for my interest - does anyone know what the max design operating temp for Audi standard pads is?

Alot of questions but I like to set a challange.

Sorry, not much has been happening on this front and was about to put a post on saying that there was insufficient interest. However it may be worth one last check if people can confirm if they are still interested. We may just have the 5 people necessary for the 5% discount after reading Shagga's post above. The people I have interested are

1) Jon - DBA4000S
2) KayGee - DBA5000 (grooved only, hat colour?)
3) Steve - DBA400S
4) Shagga - sorry didn't have a note of your interest. Have I missed it somewhere?
5) Me - DBA4000S

Simple1 - DBA don't have RS4 rear drilled and grooved discs available
a.d.grant - the discs come air frieght from Australia so its unlikely we could get them in sufficient time.

Please let me know if you still interested and apologies for letting this drag on for a while. Hope I've not wasted anybody's time

I have just spoken to Norman at Wallace Performance on the telephone (Iain - I note you are local in Aberdeen so maybe you know him ?) and delivery is 3 weeks from order.

In light of this, I placed an order with them for a pair of 4000S fronts, £128.66 each, as I was unsure when we may get a group buy together, however, this was on the proviso that I could be counted in on a group buy if it happens.

Based on the above then we have the 5 needed if you count:

Me, Jon, KayGee, Steve, Iain

6 if you count Shagga.

I was thinking of Pagid Fast Road pads but WP suggested Ferodo DS 2500 pads but Ferodo do not list the S4 2.7 and supply seems to be a problem on the Pagid - any comments ?

Hmm. You can get DBA4000S + Mintex pads (front) for $370 (~200GBP) from tantrumwerks in the US. Wonder what their shipping rates
are like. They only charge $620 for a pair of 5000.

US prices always look attractive but as other threads have said you need to add duty, carrier costs, etc you seem to almost double the cost - not so attractive in the end ?

Also guys, please note that the DBA website does not recommend cross drilling if you intend to use your car on the track, just slots.

Just paid £200 all in for an autospeed DTS. Try getting a DTS in the UK for that price.

If everything costs $500 (i.e. +$130 for carrier costs + extras) You are still looking at only
£300 to your door for disks + pads. Even with this group buy, it is going to be ~£350
for the same.

I love living in the UK sometimes.....

Interesting JonnyX

How do you calculate the extras?

Is that VAT, carrier and what else?

After talking to a few people over the weekend (one was a mechanic and MOT station) I'm not going to go for drilled discs due to them failing MOT's with hairline cracks. Just slotted for me.

Does anyone on here use Autospeeds and what are they like...???

Yes im would be interested in opions on the Autospeed DTS... after fitting the ToyGuy shifter it would be nice to get rid of that massive drive train movement....

Can the DTS be bought from the UK or will we be ripped off?

Hi,

I just guessed $130 for shipping and 'unforseen' charges. Like I said, cost of goods is $370. I have sent them an email today to
see how much they would charge for shipping and what carrier they use. I bought the DTS from Autospeed a couple of weeks
ago. Haven't fitted it yet, gonna get my RS4 engine mounts in first I think. This was sent Fedex - so far I haven't been charged
anything extra on top of the $85 expediated delivery. They are a very reputable company.
I think you can get an AWE DTS from AMD for 240 GBP EX VAT, delivery and
fitting of course. Doesn't make my 200 seem so bad....
