Thinking about K04s

Post by moktoya » Sat Aug 13, 2005 2:23 am

I'm considering upgrading to K-04s from stage 2 currently (MTM ECU with Milltek turboback + RS/ICs). I should be putting together a set of rebuilt K04s, RS4 injectors and RS4 fuel pump. Wonder what ECU programme i shld go for as there are no custom remap available here, and my particular combination of equipment does not match very well with the more advanced MTM stages. Appreciate your thots.

Yup MRC are superb. Perhaps get a Walbro fuel pump instead of the RS4 pump - it flows much more and its half the price!

sorry guys, but i'm a few thousand miles away in Asia. No custom remap available here. Reputable off the shelf progs available here are AMD and MTM (which i'm currently using). Revos are also sold here but there's no proven tuner who can tweak it well. So my question is: given my constraints which would be the K-04 prog to go for?

Given the choice you have to match your upgrade to their chips or use Lemmiwinks to tune a std chip to where you need to be.

If you cant get an MRC map, I'd get an MTM K04 chip over Lemmiwinks unless you are hooked on playing around with your engine.

I'd agree, MTM seems obvious choice since you are already using them. Look at their website and match your upgrades to what they supply in their kits, should be OK.

Perhaps speak to MRC...? It would be fairly easy for them to terminal services onto your PC whilst it was hooked upto the car, do a basic remap remotely? Not ideal, but it may be worth a phone call?
