Not that different from mine. Wheel power is just useless from Powerstation, something to do with the wheel sizes not being calibrated or some such.

when kim fitted the milltek system he took it out and it peaked at 20psi twice out of 3 runs..he said that is about 1.2-1.3bar..
steve couldnt drive the car cos he has a heavy rite foot and it kept over boosting ??
MRC have (tweaked) the map and now it seems ok..
steve has all the past dyno read out,s so he can compare..
Just as an FYI, we have not tweaked the existing map, but rather ditched the suicidal 20psi map that was on there and put our own in. We have never and never will tweak someone else's remap, otherwise we'd just be file sellers, not tuners.

No offense intended to you Simon, but I've always said and will always say that 20 psi on K03s is suicidal.

The same goes for Kim Collins' statement about the amount of boost a tuned S4 *should* run, MTM might run 20 psi peak, but we don't and I'm glad we don't. K03s last for so much longer if they don't run 20 psi...

Just my 0.02,

Mihnea

Mihnea is right and btw 20 psi is 1.38 Bar, I am seeing that on peak boost with the QST MTM map and I am pretty sure that's what killed my K03s.

Went to qst last week and Kim made the same comment about my custom remap by Doug, in that it was not running much boost. Guess it would be hard to start being complementary about a competitor.

now how about the fact that our maps produce similar power to others but with "not much boost"? I pretty much like it honestly, although I've never had doubts about the numbers produced by my maps...

Sounds like Steve made a good call.

I think you have to respect the wisdom of MRC not to run that high a boost level. If they can produce just as much power with less boost, if they felt the boost was safe surely they could and would produce much more power with 20psi using the same tuning techniques - IF it were safe.

Hi Minhea, what is a safe amount of boost for a S4 running K04's?

i ran my car for 18 months with a "suicide amount of boost" and never had a problem..
now i dnt doubt and never will the quality or integrity of MRC or there workmanship..i also believe they strieve to give the best and most accurate tuning facts to all the customers that use them..
the tweaked statement was a repeat of a pm that the now owner of my car used and i mearly passed that on to my post,s..
now as we know ,know 2 cars are the same and even 1's tuned by MRC produce different figures..
i didnt go to MRC in the 1st place purely because i wanted a decent reference point to how my car was progressing ..in other words MRC have tuned so many S4's on here i wanted to have a car that was as individual as the next..
now that it has been de-boosted my personal feeling is that it is not the same car anymore..but like i said to steve..his car his money..
if MRC started tuning BMW's i,d be the 1st to visit them and sing there praises on here..
my comments were in no way meant to be hurtfull to anybody at MRC or harmfull to the shining reputation..cos lets face it i still want an invite to there next BBQ meet day... :beerchug:

My mistake when i said tweeked, i was meaning performance seemed just as good but the overboost (down to my driving technique or not) I was experiencing had gone. So the way i worded my PM to Simon was wrong. I was very happy with the car before and after the remapp but i would experience the overboost in the most inconvenient of times like when a scooby showed me a clean pair of heels! Now i am happy to say this has not happened since
What do u think of the graph Mihnea? 345Hp sounds good on KO3 do u agree?

Ooooooh no, I got a suicidal amount of boost too. At 125k miles and 25k on the current map is it safe to drive or should I put it away now. Will it get to work and back tomorrow...............lol

@stimp: why sound so bitter? If you had ever looked at an S4 turbocharger compressor map, then maybe you'd understand what I mean with "suicidal" and 20 psi... if you're happy with your remap, then just be happy with it and trust your tuner.
