I found the B5 rear seatbelts were not long enough to go around the rear facing childseat, I changed to the M5 and although the rear seatbelts are longer it still doesnt have isofix fittings  , still I still think the S4 is an excellent family car, the engine is magnificent and 4wd too :kissmyrings:

I will without a doubt be going RS6 when they come down in price as the best compromise for grin factor and "familiness", just a shame they dont do a manual box!

me has B5 saloon
one 7 year old and one 10.
its a squeeze but they love the feel of the woooosh pedal and the 10 year old tells his mates to listen to the milltek.
on a serious note though --- when they fall a sleep in the back after a long journey the seat belt ratchets aroud them and it is sometimes hard to get them free.
you know what sort of position they get in when they fall asleep!!!

I think it really depends on the size of the family. The S4 is just a small saloon/estate (that's why Audi have the A6 & A8), so it's only suitable for a small family. That means only two kids, and parents who don't have to push the seats back all the way.

My wife's got the 2.7T Allroad, engines got plenty of grunt (as we all know), you can adjust the air suspension to it's lowest setting and chuck the big brute around OK (plenty of grip)... but it's just too big and cumbersome for any serious fun

Keep the S4 and buy your wife a family car.
