I said the price would be around a tenner depending on numbers but its certainly cheaper than most out there, the BH stuff is a good foam by all accounts but what you have to remember guys is BH are quite a big company and mass produce which is why they can keep their costs down, I on the other and am not and only buy in smaller quantities which costs me more, but hey I only offered an alternative, i dont have to sell it, I just use what does the job and works well for me so its not really marketing hype.RossDagley wrote:This ^^Surrey Sam wrote:£10 per litre... and that satsuma stuff £8.95 for only 500ml

You can get 5L of Bilt Hambers Autofoam from Opie Oil for £15.60 and it's certainly no snake oil.
Not sure I'd justify 300% (or 600%!) price increase just for marketing hype.

Re: Snowfoam
Having just tried snow foam, I have done a couple of little experiments to see how much dirt it lifts and tbh I really don't rate it at all. Unless of course I am doing something sadly wrong !!

How did you rinse?

Re: Snowfoam
i used the avalanche and now have some AMD foam supplied from they guy who detailed my car it pritty good but you have to use twice as much as it states to get a good foam and after a rinse off i really don't need to to was but that might be the ceramic coating
the only problem is the bottle is only 1 ltr i prefer to get my stuff in 5 ltr packs so your not constantly ordering gear

Re: Snowfoam
It really only comes into its own when the car is fully sealed with either a high quality traditional wax or synthetic sealant.R4gordini wrote:I've tried various methods and I really can't see it removing much
I frequently contactless clean my cars and can do 3 or 4 contactless cleans between having to use a washmitt.
If your car is fully sealed, snowfoam left to dwell, followed by a blast and then a rinse should remove pretty much everything. But prep is the key. That won't work on cars not coated properly in the first place (but it will still help remove the worst).
Remember the idea of snowfoam isn't actually to give you a gleaming car (although it can as above) - it's to remove the majority of larger particles so when you come to washing with a mitt there's less contamination on the paint. And regardless of how well sealed the car is or isn't, it does that very well.

Re: Snowfoam
As per Ross, I only use a mitt and rub the paint maybe every 4th or 5th wash. Once the car has been cleaned properly a snow foam and rinse is all it needs as long as you don't leave it too long between washes.
Re: Snowfoam
Car plan trade valet foam in Halfords , 5 litres for £10.95 . cheap and does the job well , removes everything ready for the polishing /wax
Re: Snowfoam
So let me get this right, if your car is well polished, which I think mine is, then when its a dirty girl, I just spray the snow foam on and leave it to soak. Then pressure wash it off and chamois it dry?

Re: Snowfoam
I wouldn't go straight to a chamois after only snow foaming as it may still leave some light contaminant on the paint. You will probably induce more swirls. I snow foam every time (apply the snow foam to the car when it is dry), then rinse, followed by a 2-bucket wash mitt and rinse, then quick detailer spray and jumbo microfiber drying towel to dry off to a shiny streak free finish and it still beads up nicely. I use Valetpro Ph neutral snowfoam, Britemax or Megs wash and valet pro quick detailer spray. All great products.

Hi , you will find that snow foam removes polish and cuts through wax . that's the whole point in the product to remove as much from the paint /car as possible . DO not snow foam the car when its dry do it when its wet. So
Jet car
Snow Foam leaving to soak for 15 mins
Jet again
then wash
Micro towel or leather to dry
You will then have to use quick detailer or polish again
Finally Wax
Re: Snowfoam
This is my routine now for a zero contact clean:
Jet wash to blast dirt off.
snow foam for pre-wash, leave for 20 mins
jet wash
car shampoo / wax (meguiars) in a foam lance (no rubbing)
jet wash
rinse with water from filter
drive round the block
pat dry any bits left over if I have to although as its filtered water it shouldn't leave any marks so I normally leave it.

Re: Snowfoam
Do you not encounter anything that sticks to the car and/or drive around in a cocoon?
For all the wax/coating etc etc I always have to wash with a mitt.
