Currently getting a new garage built and I would be grateful for feedback on good tried and tested floor coverings.
Thanks in advance for your input folks.

RE: New garage, suggestions for floor covering please.
I use a cheap industrial concrete floor paint from screwfix. It seals off the dust, and gives a gloss surface that is easy to wipe clean. The only thing i'd say is that it needs repainting every 3 years or so, but its far better than an untreated concrete floor. When painting for the first time on a new floor, the concrete has to be fully dry, which takes 4 to 6 months for a thick concrete base.
Of course, you can spend more - there are some very nice ceramic heavy duty tiles.....that would be nice...

.. if painting - the concrete needs to be etched first, (‘brick acid’) otherwise the paint doesn’t adhere to the surface properly. I didn’t know this when I first painted mine and if the car sits on the surface for a few weeks it rolls out with the footprint of the paint on the tyres.
There are various specialist companies offering paint type options, and tiles etc – be warned – it can get quite expensive.

Ive a decorating firm and the best stuff to use if you never want to have to do it again is Johnstones 2 pack epoxy floor paint. The process is:
Clean and hoover floor.
Apply 2 coats of acid etch primer( DO NOT USE BRICK ACID- sorry).
Rinse/wash immediately to prevent acid affecting subsequent coating.
Allow to dry for 2 days.
1st coat floor paint thinned 10 percent followed by 1-2 full coats floor paint.
Ensure concrete (if new) has been allowed to dry at rate of 1 inch per month i.e. 10 inch thick floor needs 10 months to fully dry.
Do not drive onto it for 7 days.
This coating is awesome and lasts indefinately. Ok its a seems a long way to do it but piece of mind is great.
