Thanks for the insurance opinions - ive just saved £700+ by switching from Admiral to Greenlight insurance, and thats from just from browsing nonchalantly through the different forums!
29/3 yrs NCB/6 pts/Standard RS4 B5 :- £1461-00
29/3yrs NCB/6 pts/MTM 458hp B5(same car+ mods) £747-00
God knows how much Admiral would want off me if i tried to tell them about the mods - 19" wheels + milltek alone they said extra £114.
What a valuable resource we all have here.

I have to also add to this, thanks RS246. Got my insurance through Greenlight for our RS6 and can totally agree with the above, they were £300 cheaper than everyone else.
Cheers RS246 i shall raise a pint in your honour tonight!!!

Glad to hear it
Do us a favour then please. It will cost you nothing:
Give Greenlight a call and ask for Tony or Neil Fehily. Tell them what RS246 has done for them & ask them to renew their site sponsorship

Done - Spoke to a lad called Neil and he said its reviewed every 6 months by the IT guys.
Apparently all queries are logged and if there i enough business via RS246 to cover the costs then they will definately be renewing.
In other words they will definately maybe and Probably be renewing.

Greenlight won't insure me... I live on the wrong side of the tracks!
If I lived 50m away (literally) across the road, i'd be in the next postal code and they would insure me there. Crazy!
Looks like i'll be renewing again with existing site sponsors Noel Dazely

I had this problem with Greenlight too.. I recieved a qoute then it was denied due to changes in postcode ratings!
Im with Noel Dazely too. But Im thinking of changing to Aplan next as they can possibly insure me cheaper..

I've just got cover for both cars with the camp seafarer and his dodgy parrot (Admiral).... total 610 quid for a
99 S4 with a Milltek and the 230E Merc....
Beats the previous S4 only cost of 730 quid
A big 'up' for the camp sailor!

be VERY careful of greenlight. in the event of an accident you HAVE to go to there repairer and not one of your choise. E.g main dealer

Greenlight weren't even competitively priced for me. Stock B5 S4 aside from aluminium wing mirrors, RS4 suspension and big brakes. I came to them with nothing on my licence, and 10 years no claims. Their quote rocked in 500 quid higher than A Plan, who quoted 800 quid.
With the policy I'm on, I can get the intercoolers and oil cooler done, but once I bumpt he power up more than 10% above stock, then they can't cover me anymore. Basically, this means no remap. I asked Greenlight about my car with the remap, quoting a probable power of 320 BHP. They wanted 1500 quid. I'm giving serious thought to swapping out for a cheaper-to-run car

I'm with elephant at the mo, due for renewal soon. Last year was £400. When bakerdcb had his stage 2 RS4 with brake and suspension mods done his policy only went up £80 with elephant. May be worth a try Rik?
