Hi all,

I am new to these forums. Just bought an RS4 about 3 weeks ago and, with the heavy snowfall the week before last, I managed to have 2 minor accidents already! Fortunately, only the 2 front wheels were kerbed.

Anyway, took it to a refurbishing company and they fixed and resprayed the wheels. The problem is that the wheels are now a slightly different colour and it is driving me insane. The originals look fantastic ... bright, shiny and eye-catching whereas the refurbed ones look dull, lifeless and matt. The did admit that there was a colour difference.

Anyway, I am looking to get them redone again. Do you have any recommendations of a company that can restore them to their original glory? Is anyone selling any of these alloys by any chance?

These are the 19'' twin-spokes that I am referring to.

wicked wheels in Royce road Manor Road Crawley will acid strip and bake wheel ... they can match the colour ..they will be bright and shiny

Thanks Andy. I contacted the Reading Wicked Wheels. Fantastic guy. Was very honest and told me that they had tried to match the RS4 alloys but failed. He gave me another company's number but they have not bothered to contact me after I left a message. Steve, thanks for Pristine wheels. I will check them out.

This company may be too far north for you but I have had no problems with them over a number of years with different wheels, my only caveat is that if there is an issue with matching the colour of our rs4 wheels you need to query it. I would be interested (in case I kerb mine) as to your final solution - keep us informed.

Ironically I had an alloy repaired last week... because of the colour match issue above, I did'nt want the whole alloy repainted as all my alloys were replaced with brand spankers last year by Audi.

Instead, I decided to get the best paint shop near to me (the Porsche garage from previous experience) to do a localised repair to the 2" scrape. At first they flatly refused, as a touch-up job is clearly beneath them, but after much begging they came round to my point of view and agreed to have a go. Basically with me owning the risk if it went pair-shaped. When I left my £600 alloy wheel and £250 tyre with them I strongly reaffirmed that I had the utmost confidence in them that they would see me proud!!?? At the end of the day its a quality issue of paint and workmanship, if you can get decent paint applied by someone who paints/blends quality cars for a living then your 90% there.

Picked it up today and I must say that I am very impressed indeed, they did a fantastic job and I cannot see the repair at all, very good quality indeed. I own the car so if I can't see it, then it must be a good job and no-one else is going to see it.

Very chuffed. I wont say how much it cost me, but believe me, it was far cheaper than you would think as there is only so-much that anyone can rightly justify charging for about 2 square inches of paint. Good to see that people are still willing to do customer service favours in the spirit of long-term business as the garage in question knows that they've done there bit for me to return to them another day without question.

01494 510033 or Mob 07867 544710 Talk to Stuart or Gary. They do the wheels for Slough Audi. I had two done there after grazing the rims in a pot-hole (trench) About £65 each plus VAT, they'll come to you or you can go to them.
Alternatively Camberley Audi use Dave Adams at Excel 07786 804544, not seen his work, but they swear by him.

Just had one of my wheels done yesterday. I needed one of the spokes on the 19" RS wheel painted where I scratched it and I rubbed all the paint off trying too hard to get the scratch out.

Wheel colour is perfect match and cannot see repair - £40 all in. This company does all Mercedes, BMW and Audi in North London, Herts and Beds. He also repaired a 20" alloy on my X5 4.8is after the missus decided to kiss the kerb and this was also a perfect job.

He comes to your house and has one of these massive Mercedes Sprinter vans where all the work is carried out inside. This is great as the car is not out of your site and you are only without the car for a morning or afternoon. He has 16 different silver paints on board and uses a chrome silver for the RS4.

Guys, Fantastic. Thanks for the advice. I am annoyed every time I look at the car ... passenger side alloys looks fantastic but driver's side (where the 2 refurbed ones are) does not!

Quick update on the wheels. Wicked Wheels in High Wycombe did a refurb on the wheels and they look fantastic again. It took a day and you can barely tell that they have ever been done. They look almost original. Thanks for the advice!

Have a few stone chips on the wheels especially rear nearside but not enough to warrant a refurb.
Any idea which touch up paint is a good match for the wheel colour ?Audi range or any silver/aluminium generic paint?

This is what I had but my rear offside wheel was so badly marked by a stone that I had to have it done. They carried out a small repair on one of the spokes which matched in lovely with the rest of the wheel and now you would never know it happened.

I have always used BJV Engineering. I got a little off topic in the thread below and did a small write up.

Apart from the cosmetic reasons why rush out and get your wheels re-furbed? am I missing something as I have scraped mine a couple of times and know I will again so I'd rather do it all in one go when I'm selling her.

I hate kerbed wheels so I would get mine sorted as soon as possible.
