Am I mental? What do do? Help!

Post by S4WON » Wed Mar 04, 2015 7:09 pm

Situation:

I own a fully loaded B8 S4, previous includes B7 RS4, TVRs, Integrale. Point? I like cars.

Lately I. Just. Don't. Feel. Content. With the power of my S4, lustful and adulterous glances have been exchange with other exotica (cars, honest).

To the point where i am close to pulling a trigger on a C7 RS6. Use would be a daily for my wife, kids and me at the weekend / interesting journeys.

Now. Sadly I'm not a premiership footballer, nor business owner but I do well. I can afford it, (cracking pcp deal) but its a good chunk of my disposable (wife is on board). Point is. Do i do it?

Options:

MRC stage 2 my S4
Buy the RS6
Something else?

All comments welcome, ideally supported by some logic if not, will settle for wit and/or abuse.

Thanks!

Is fuel a consideration? It's going to be horrendous on a short daily journey.

You only live once.

I was in the same situation, had a 2011 B8 S4 and wanted something more so had the MRC stage 2 at the time the best £1400 I ever spent on a car completely transformed the performance but just didn't look the part some how, then moved on to 2014 RS4, fantastic car but if I'm honest the MRC stage 2 on the S4 tainted the RS4 as the S4 was so much quicker, although the RS would kill it in the bends. Any way long story short now have a C7 RS6 and this is a keeper. Fuel consumption is on par with the both RS and S on a run but around town the 6 is particularly poor. RS6 every time you won't be sorry. Hope it helps a little and they are only personal views

Thanks fabrs4, i hoped somebody here had the same calling!

In terms of options for the 6 im thinking:

Sports exhaust
parking plus (for my misses, honest) cameras allround
Styling with the quattro grill
Pano roof
Advanced key (love this on my s4, would miss it now)

And perhaps controversially

No sports/dynamic pack (dont want DRC or dynamic steering) hear Air is pretty good

Obvs id love ceramics but for the price of a small car cant really justify it.

Thoughts?

Hi S4WON All good choices, sports exhaust is a must for me so would the dynamic pack which gets you LED head lights which are so cool, tried a RS7 at a Audi Rs day without sports exhaust and with air suspension felt a little less sporty and sounded bland, parking plus with 360 is also very useful. Would have had the pano roof but mine was in the showroom and had no choice, would suggest you try out the Audi connect as I'm not convinced and rarely use it. Adaptive cruise control with stop/ start is expensive but as someone on here put It only needs to work once so may be worth a thought. 21 inch gloss black wheels perfect with misano for me. Would also have had brushed aluminium inlays as the piano black shows every tiny speck of dust and finger mark and would add a bit of colour contrast. but regardless the 6 is fantastic and any options just make it that little bit more special and personal.
