Dealerships.......Good and the Bad......
Aberdeen Audi 1/10.......at a stretch maybe.
Have only had experience of the service department though. When I went to buy my RS4 I didn't even bother to contact Aberdeen Audi because of my previous experience with them. Took my B5 S4 to them back in 2003 and had a lot of problems. Used an independant VW/Audi specialist for the S4 after that - they shook their heads in disbelief at a some of the things Aberdeen Audi did.
I've been in a bit of a quandry regarding where to get my RS4 serviced as I am really reluctant to go back to Aberdeen Audi but they are closest. However, Chris's experience and other comments on eastsidevw I'll look to go elsewhere.

You can add the nice shiny new Audi dealership at Peasedown near Bath to the list of bad IMO.
Went there this afternoon as I wanted to order up some matched paint for my wingmirror I have been putting off doing.
Despite not being that busy they just stood and looked down their nose at me while I was waiting at the "reception" counter for help. Not one came over to help at all. It makes me laugh, I never really get the whole sales assistants thinking they are something special in any establishment. They just work their, I on the other hand came in to buy.
Seems they brought all the crap staff from the original one that was in Bath centre to their nice shiney new one - where I experienced a similar level of "service" (being ignored while trying to buy a car!). Looks like you most certainly cannot polish a turd that being the case.

Swansea I would give 7.5/10. This is let down by the guys in the garage badly for taking my car out for a 10 mile tester. Really complained about that. Wendy (10/10), servicing dept made notes and the guy is not allowed to work on my car again!!! What a shmuck!!! Came back the other day from there and noticed the drivers side door had been marked (not major) but enough to be noticed... not happy (I didn't notice on the day as they hadn't stamped the book due to them not being able to find it (even though it was sitting on the front passanger seat!!!). Rang them up and because it was 2 days since the car was there they wouldn't accept liability; though they did say they would give me garage favourite rates (whatever that means) to get it sorted. (Not really the point though). Generally on the whole the garage is friendly and you being looked after and taken care of is also good, its just a shame the ones who actually work on the cars are such shmuck's (the ones that i have dealt with so far anyway). Swansea is better than most of the Audi garages that i have been to.

Alright guys, just a post to add my 2p worth.
I went into Braehead Audi when looking for a b5 s4 3 yrs ago, spend 15mins looking outside then went in to look on the sales boards inside the showroom and got ignored for another 20 mins (don't they want to sell cars!)
I phoned Braehead Audi for a quote for timing belt change. can't remember the figures but for instance they asked
Is it due a normal service sir? £400
Is it due a long life service sir? £500
When I gave them my chassis No. I was told the price would be £450!!!!
Work that one out. I just hung up!
I went to Stirling Audi and after telling them my chassis No. the parts guy told me (after checking my service book & with his computer ) that the previous owner had the timing belt done as a precaution 20,000 miles before it was due. nice to know the previous owner cared for my car.
They done my 80,000mile service for £232.30
They done my 90,000mile service for £321.90
I wouldn't even go to Braehead Audi now even if it was cheaper, don't want to have to pay for feeling like a <beep>!

In contrast to the above, Hadwins took 30-odd thousand quids worth of my hard-earned cash and then when I asked them to repair the brake fault on my car they had a couple of lame attempts (there you go sir, we have replaced the brake discs at our expense - total lie, the warranty picked up the bill) then refused to deal with me and I had to take the car elsewhere. When they did the timing belt they refitted the bumper without reconnecting the front fogs (bumper had to be removed to re-route the wiring)davidhodgkinson wrote:Hadwins Audi - service 10/10 (currently)
The last service and other work was completed without any problems.
Plus, I've just taken the car in for it's MOT with them and was told it was FREEEEEE as I have had my service done by them.
Very excellent service
When they took it in for MOT they were too busy and sent it to a local garage instead (a friend spotted my car travelling at high speed along the A590 that day - is a joyride a standard part of the test?)
The sales department create a very good first impression and with hindsight it was this shiny veneer which led me to turn a blind eye to the level of dishonesty and incompetence behind the scenes. Their marketing machine is admirable - they support several good causes, and the facility has to be the best base from which to buy a car with a generally good selection, some fantastic local roads and a welcome absence of snobbery from the staff.
Harrogate Audi have been generally good.
Why is there no MRC/QST/StarPerformance in Northern England?
Christ if Gilders Sheffield Audi are as bad as the sales dept at Gilders Chesterfield VW...I'd steer well clear.
Took my Dad to look at a Tiguan. They had one outside and one in the showroom (sold and locked)... I asked if I could have a look inside and they just said 'no that one is sold'. OK so what about the one outside what about showing interest.... .well f... em!
If they can't make you welcome when you are a potential customer then god knows how crap they will be if we were daft enough to buy a car from them...

From a servicing and maintenance point of view, does it really matter what model of Audi it is? Oil, filters, spark plugs, etc are pretty generic and Audi make lots of FSI or turbocharged cars which can suffer boost leaks, dodgy diverter valves or failing MAF's. I sympathise with everyone suffering DRC problems because that still seems to be uncommon technology.
If I was the proud owner of an A4 1.8t Quattro or an A6 2.7t then I would be a bit miffed to think that the garage was taking more care with the RS4 on the adjacent ramp... £100 an hour has got to be worth a spectacular level of skill and care regardless of what you drive.
I will never forget phoning Rover customer services regarding our MGF only to be asked whether it was a petrol or diesel model !!!

......do they make a petrol MGF?
Too right! Service is about service and not about the car price. We had a van serviced and it came back dirtier than when we sent it with greasy finger prints on the inside..... they said 'well It's only a van'... erm riiiiiiiiight!

I met a friend in Glasgow today who used to have (but no longer) an RS6. He was telling me that latterly he was getting all his work and servcing done at Camerons in Perth - even though he just stayed along the road from Glasgow Audi.
He would book the car in and someone would drive down from Perth leave them their car as a courtesy car and then take the RS6 back up the road. He was very pleased with the Audo Perth service.

Was up in Inverness a couple of weekends ago and booked my RS4 in to have the oil and filter changed. Unfortuntely it didn't quite go to plan as they had the wrong oil filter - correct part number but there's an A and B version. They offered to give me another car and deliver mine back to Aberdeen on the Tuesday but some fun roads beckoned over the course of the weekend. Apparently they have a driver down to the Aberdeen area 2 to 3 times a week.
Got a follow up call the week after to apologise for the error and get the car booked in again. Went back last Saturday, oil and filter now changed and no charge (although I was supplying the oil). OK, they screwed up the first time but I couldn't fault their offers to resolve it.
