Any one got any up to date knowledge on this subject. I called Audi and they want £1242 (I think) for a year. Warranty direct looks like a similar price. :?

Warranty Direct just called me. They said platinum is just for cars up to 3 years old and up to 20k miles.

My quote for Gold (with mileage of 10k p/a and £25 excess) is £1100 using dealers and £900 using network garage with a total claim of £5k.

This doesn't seem to add up to the above experience. :?

I took the warranty out 3 months before the Audi one ran out. I was initially given a gold, but when I looked the policy it stated that the maximum claim was £5000. I told them that for an RS6 that would probably only cover replacement of the cigarette lighter! They then went off and discussed it and came back and offered me the Platinum policy. They appear to have some give and take in the price and policy cover!

For those people who have taken out a warranty direct (or other non-audi/Mondial warranty) have you needed any warranty work doing. If so was there any problems with getting the work done with the extended warranty?

My Audi/Mondial extended warranty is due for renewal between Christmas and New Year so I'm currently considering various renewal options.

In case anyone is interested here's the figures Audi have quoted me on my RS6 (although I think it applies to RS4's etc):

For cars from 3 to 5 years old and up to a maximum of 15,000 miles per annum (pa) = £1240 pa

For cars from 3 to 5 years old with unlimited mileage pa = £1576 pa

For cars over 5 years old and up to a maximum of 15,000 miles pa = £1732 pa

For cars over 5 years old and with unlimited mileage pa = £2004 pa

Many thanks,

Richard.

Oh my God! Expense.

Everything is going well with the car at present, so not tested Warranty Direct yet. They were fine in the past with my S4 though.

I've got a warranty carried over from the prvious owner where I pay £200 per year and get upto £1k cover (so in reality I save £800 on work that needs doing). The good thing is that I don't have to use standard Audi parts. I can go for performace parts if I want :D
01 RS4, Milltek, Dahlback Racing rears, RS6 fronts and a few bits to be added.

Also, as I hate driving, my toy to play with - a Honda CBR F Sport
