JJB Motors in York
Having had my B7 RS4 fixed by JJB I wanted to give them a well deserved good review and a recommendation.
As mentioned in the intro section, I recently bought a '07 RS4 Saloon from a dealer.
Soon after buying the car, the EPC light started coming on, the revs were limited, and overall there was a lack of power. Additionally, the aircon didn't work. The codes indicated that the faults were with the swirl flaps and brake boost, combined with the lack of the 5200rpm kick, I suspected there was a vacuum leak. The dealer was happy to take the car to a mechanic of my choosing. I did some reading and searching, and JJB were the closest RS experienced specialist to me and seemed to have good reputation.
They took the car in straight away, diagnosed the issues, found the vacuum leak with a smoke test (split elbow hose), fixed the aircon (faulty switch), cleaned the manifold and did a carbon clean. They kept me updated throughout, while also keeping the dealer updated, and took photos and posted updates on Facebook. Needless to say, the car is transformed and back to full health.
Chatting to the owner, Johnny, I got the impression he really loves fast Audis (he loved my car), and has a monstruous B5. They also had an RS3 in today waiting to be picked up. They will be my RS4 mechanics of choice from now on and I'll be going back in the next week or two for a Revo remap.

I'm in Ilkley, so about an hour away, but it's a decent drive when not too busy.

Re: JJB Motors in York
Just had them look over my RS6 C5 today which I bought last week. Gave it a good going over for a couple of hours, including a couple of test drives (well you would wouldn't you ?) including checking out fault codes, and they found the code for the fault I was looking for.
Im in Leeds but I''ll be taking it back to JJB for servicing. Very happy with their expertise and happy to recommend.

Just a little warning...
I had terrible time with jjb when I owned my b5's.
I sold them recently and the new buyer (from leeds) had simular nightmare stories which we chatted about.
Just a quick Google of their name show's a low rating and some other people's experiences.
I wouldnt recommend this garage to anyone and felt the need to say something as I still have bad feelings about it.

Interesting you say that. I asked them for a quote on my clutch and flywheel replacement a few days ago.Natedogg1983 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 22, 2017 12:07 amJust a little warning...

I got the impression things were not as smooth as others I've asked for an estimate. Certainly not as slick upon quoting, a little hesitant on pricing and needed to call me back with detail. Even then he just rattled costs off (of which were a tad sketchy) when others emailed me a detailed breakdown.
Certainly in two minds at that point, now my mind has been pretty made up.
Thanks for the heads up buddy.

Autotechnica in Hull are my garage of choice, I've used them since I was 17 but when I got b5s thought I would go see jjb.
Went straight back to Autotechnica in Hull and wish I never left.
Honest and genuine fellas....
One went In for revo remap at autotechnica on my s3
I was expecting a £400 bill.....
When I turned up they told me a revo map was on car and needed 'turning back on' they charged me .....£10
When they could have charged me full price and I would still have been happy.
True honesty....
They also did my clutch on 2001.5 avant. Think was around £750 fitted (rs4 clutch plates etc).
