C5 RS6 HELP

Post by Streetman » Sat May 16, 2015 11:12 am

Hi,

Can anyone help me with these list of enquiries please:

1. Navigation plus radio RSN-D in my car is not communicating with the multi-function steering wheel.
Can I programme this myself, or is this a new tuner job and going to Audi.

2. When I switch me radio on, the screen says no TMC communication faulty tuner.

3. Secondary air-pump making a lot of noise, is it worth by passing.

4. I want to remap my ECU'S, engine, gearbox and pedal, which tuning company is the most reliable.
I've seen a lot of cars being sold on the net with MRC Tuning, not saying there not good but just asking
Why so many cars with their tuning programmes are being sold. "Maybe its petrol costs or is it reliability,
what would I get in stages 1,2 and 3. What would I expect to pay.

5. Can anyone also advise on engine torque mounts replacements, which companies.

6. Heard that scorpion or custom exhausts are best for these cars, as miltex is to restrictive Evan with NON-RES PIPES.

Thanks in advance.

I don't know about the radio but there are a lot of very happy customers of mrc on here. They aren't the cheapest for work but they are perfectionists! Other than brake work and servicing which I do myself, everything else mechanical gets done by them.

Tuning wise they are the best Audi tuner IMHO, people travel from all over Europe to get their cars tuned.

Stage 1 with mrc filters and cat back will get you over 500ps easily if your car is running well with no boost leaks. All cars are different but mine did 521ps & 760nm with the stock exhaust. Then I paid for a map tweak after I fitted the milltek non res and it picked up a bit more power 533ps & 809nm. Btw milltek are not restrictive at all, that's total bull. Most people find the resonated system too quiet though. Personally I think the non res is about right.

Getting the pre-cats gutted will require a stage 2 tune (just a custom map, effectively what my tweaked stage 1 is). Torque is usually limited to around 800-820nm to protect the box but you get a faster spool up and a bit more power on the top end.

Hope that helps :)

Btw I've also had the car dyno'd at Surrey rolling road which backed up the mrc numbers. They read in bhp not ps, also they don't have the powerful intercooler blowers mrc use so it's down a bit as you'd expect. I got 515hp which is 522ps.
