Caliper refurbs - who to trust

Post by McF » Thu Apr 23, 2015 2:31 pm

Guys,

Looking to get front calipers refurbed. Looked at Brake Caliper Specialists but have seen some issues with communication and time scales.

Anyone had any recent contact with them / used their services? HAs turn around improved.

If not them, anyone esle got any recommendations.

Thanks

Kev

I used a company called Godspeed Brakes, I was very happy with the refurbishment of my steel brake callipers - polished pistons, new seals, new fixings and machined mounting faces etc. Only minor gripe was the RS decal being a bit heavy duty and stuck on last. They claimed to get the best calliper finish they could only stick this decal on afterwards. I guess with the decal on the top, then at least it can be replaced as and when required.

You can't go wrong with Godspeed Brakes. http://www.godspeedbrakes.co.uk/

I had a set of Brembo calipers done by them and they were absolutely faultless, even down to the logo. They often update their Facebook page with refurb examples - worth having a look.

I wouldn't go anywhere else for braking parts when I had the Impreza.

Spoken to both and think I will go with Godspeed.

Both quoted 10 days maximum turnaround with a7 day more than likely.

However, BCS were about £300 higher despite Godspeed manufacturing the Pistons out of stainless rather than the chrome plated steel ones from Alcon.
As they are 8 pot calipers that's a bloody lot of Pistons lol...
