Insurance

Post by Dalton » Fri Apr 01, 2005 10:59 am

Just got renewal notice from Privilege. £750 36 year old and only 4 years NCB.

Thought that this was pretty good but being a bean counter felt I had a duty to cross quote with other companies.

I couldn't better it but was intrigued as to what Privilege would quote on their site in order for me to check the figure above.

Couldn't believe that it came back at £650 with a lower excess.

Rang privilege to complain, couln't get a straight and honest answer as it seemed to catch them off guard but I concluded that the lower figure is for new business.

Have threatened to cancel and re-apply, still waiting for their response.

Any of you experienced this?

Try Liverpool Victoria - I've got all my cars with them. They are excellent.
Maserati GranTurismo GTS Auto, S3 Sportback, TT2 3.2 Roadster, Disco3 for the heavy stuff.

My RS4 is insured with Liverpool and Victoria - they will cover the mods but only if you are an existing customer of theirs - they won't insure new customers with mods.
M3 CSL - Silver Grey, a few options.

Elephant.

The only bonus worth staying with them was that the Mrs has just inherited my no claims bonus as she's not been running a policy of her own for a few years and had lost hers.

They were still cheaper than enywhere else I tried.

Cheers

Ben

Don't forget that although Elephant will insure a modded car, they don't cover the modded parts.

I'm covered by Admiral, and am about to have a stage three mod. They calculate the extra premium by % increase, but as they said, 'we just accept the figure you give us'.

I think a 10% increase was about £20 a year more, yet 11% and above is £150 more. How would they know without a RR?

Just wondered if anyone has been in this situation.

Oh any clever cloggs know what 380 up to 460 is as a percentage? :?

Thanks
