Hi, Anyone had experience of claims payouts from Warrany Direct and the like? My 2004 RS6 is totally original with 71k on the clock and paperwork..but still has the DRC (even though it was repaired under warranty in 2009). Reckon there's a good chance this may go as planning on keeping car for a year or 2 (funds allowing) and the gearbox issue? Any recommendations for best RS6 warranty companies. £850 a year quoted which sounds too good to be true! Sceptical but open to advice...

Re: RS6 owner promised the world by Warranty Direct??
just had a look at their website and their policy looks quite no nonsense, they say they pay no matter what caused the problem so they don't leave room for themselves to wriggle out of it.
Your car being old though (mines is even older and only just within their window to start cover) they will only pay 60% of the parts cost, dropping to 50% when the car is 10 years old, not sure but it also looks like that goes from the date of manufacture rather than the date of registration
I've got 6 months or so to decide on taking 3 years cover with them before mine gets too elderly

Re: RS6 owner promised the world by Warranty Direct??
Having read many posts and threads it seems the warranty companies will try and get out of almost all claims. Having read the small print / keyfacts there are glaringly obvious get out clauses for their protection..e.g. defining an item as 'broken'. So if for example the DSG gearbox is slipping a little it is not technically 'broken'. I have decided to keep my cash (almost a £1000) and put it into a fund for the inevitable DSG and DRC problems that will no doubt come along at some point..

My experience with WD totally fair no compaints.
But 2 DRC shocks replaced counts as 2 claims & 2 excess, so they paid just over half of total.
