Plus spec?

Post by Fathand » Mon Oct 29, 2012 9:24 pm

Guys I've picked up so much info on here since taking ownership of my first 6 last year but one thing still beats me, what are the basic differences between a c5 & a c5 plus?

Appreciate that Amanda but are there any visual differences? Without a dyno reading I have no idea of real bhp figure....

Titan wheels and exhaust tips optics iirc oh and a plaque on the inside giving the number but as always everything was an option and could be changed apart from the plaque ?

It isn't 50bhp difference between a stock C5 and a + C5 that I am aware of. + models always come with the black optic pack from factory I believe. You should find an additional cooling rad behind each intercooler (unless removed for some reason). + models are ONLY estate models. If you could try a + and a normal side by side, you should find that the + has a quicker steering rack fitted too, whether this results in a tighter turning circle or just less overall turns from lock to lock, I don't know.

There is the plaque around the gear selector that is supposed to match the last 3 digits of the VIN too, if someone was sad enough they could fake it I guess but I really don't see why. Not sure if things like solar roof, blinds etc are standard kit but I doubt it. Some of the proper anoraks will be along shortly no doubt :)
Current:

23' C8 RS6 Vorsprung - 23' RS E-Tron GT Carbon Vorsprung

Gone:

"Brutus"- C5 RS6 Avant - MRC stage 2 - Milltek non-res + 100 cell cats - Wagner ICs - PSS9 - H&R ARBs - OZ Superturismo LM - C6 Custom brakes - HD RNS-E - Various other bits - 555PS/832Nm
"Taz"- C7 RS6 - MRC stage 2 745PS/1095Nm
12' Cayenne Turbo, B7 RS4, S3, Cupra R, XJR, EVO VII, STI8,5,2&WRX, 106 GTI&XSI, other crap.

As always top quality info from everyone so thanks for that. Mine has the full blind kit, black optics, drilled disks etc etc but sadly (for this purpose only) it's a beautiful Black saloon so I guess if the + only came as Avant mines a boring(!) 450 bhp 'standard' RS6. Anyone with any history back ground on a 2003 carrying the Reg. LY53 TTF with a Northampton address from Nov 2006 till Nov 2011?

Assuming you have the service book, then just stick all the option codes into the "Option Code finder" spreadsheet (think it's in Footers repository) and you can find out exactly what you have got! (Or at least what it left the factory with!)

473bhp
Optics - black roof rails, front grill & boot trim, exhaust tips
plaque xxx of 999
Exhaust is modified & subtly louder (hardly noticeable!!)
slight drop in drc suspension height I am led to believe, havent been able to confirm as yet on mine!
Cross-drilled discs
Darker gunmetal / anthracite rims
Extra cooling rads in engine bay.
RNSE screen standard

Yea I own one, need to to get some fresh rubber on it (see separate thread) :bigwave:

. . .& no doubt I have missed something out from the above list!? :nodder:
