Transmission Program

Post by Audioz » Mon Oct 01, 2012 3:31 am

Hey,

I'd like to know if there are any other tuners that offer a transmission program such as that offered by MRC? I am across the other side of the world and are having my engine tuned locally due to its upgrades (cams, ports, turbos etc) but have heard great thing about there tune.

I've already contacted and they only offer with an engine map.

Thanks to anyone who can assist in advance!

Step 1 gearbox
Step 2 - 9 irrelevant
Step 10 horny

...it's easy when you know how.

/EDIT - we may need a Monday thread at this rate...

Transmission Program

Post by philipinoz » Tue Oct 02, 2012 2:13 pm

Hey Audioz,

I'd recommend Viper too. Rich did my car (remotely) - I'm in Brisbane. Reprogrammed TCU is a DIY install, and the ECU map is a download/upload DIY job too. Latter took me two iterations (rough starting and funny idle first time around).

Well, well, that was interesting. Plugged my Viper TCU in for the first time and... it kicked down in tiptro! It was a horrible, like suddenly no longer having the use of your hands and having to masturbate with your feet.

Put it in 5th at 30 then pressed the loud pedal and the display jumped from 5 to 2 and the gearbox started shifting down. Count 'em, 4th, 3rd, 2nd and we're off. The cow in the field next to me actually got a better take off.

How do any of you live with it?

To be fair, I didn't ask Viper to get rid of kickdown, but you would think that everyone would want this to be coded out. Anyway, the MTM brain is back in now and all is well.
