Bye bye RS6

Post by vikingrs6 » Mon Sep 10, 2012 5:00 pm

Hi

Said my farewells the my RS6 on Saturday as it slunk off to be with it's new owner, sad day..

Just wanted to say thank for to all for various bits of advice and help over the time of my happy ownership. Fantastic 3 years and the longest I've ever held on to a car.

I've pointed the new owner in the direction of this forum so he may pop on and say hello at some point.

tbo it was one of the hardest decisions I've ever made being a serial petrol head. Nothing to do with the car or the ownership really happy with both but without going into detail a change of priorities. Fully intend to get back into an RS in two to three years when the new RS4 has lost it's initial premium.

As for the new motor I couldn't have gone for a bigger change, Citroen DS5 DSport Hybrid. Yes you read that right, but please don't laugh too much. Actually a really nice car and a little odd ball which is always nice. Thinking behind it was if I got something that pretends to be fast I'll always go it's not as good as the RS was etc. The DS is what it is and as such I'm actually really happy with it. Go figure?!..

PS last time I was sensible it lasted 3 months!..

Citroen are so funny. They make a song and dance about how they are the only manufacturer to offer a diesel hybrid without ever stopping to wonder why nobody else bothered. :)

I quite like the DS models. If I was forced to own a French car, it would be a Citroen.

Actually, it would be a Citroen SM while we're in fantasy land...
