Hi, just joined the forum as looking at an RS6 Avant plus lhd but this car has the modern grill of the the newer c6 , the elongated mouth grill making it modern looking . They say it has 482cv , 4.2 tturbo , was this type of new style grill fitted on the lst of the the c5 models? Its for sale on the following link and i am interested apart from the scared to death about running costs .
http://www.coches.net/audi-rs6-42-tiptr ... -covo.aspx
seems expensive too compared with UK prices in general , also saw a 2002 model in Madrid but older grill and perhaps not as interesting , link also below

Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated , long time since I had the S2 and imagine this is possibly a big step up .
Cheers

The person who put that grill on a C5 should be hung. Just when you think it couldn't get any worse it has that awful TDI steering wheel, it doesn't look like a plus in any way either.

There is nothing wrong with a decently modified car but I would not touch that car with bam bams willy!!!!! I suspect you will have more trouble with that than the koreans and the Chinese trying to lose the oylimpics badmintons match!!!!!

So I gather many think its a dogs dinner car and best avoided , and yes I compared the steering wheel, yes its different , maybe it had an accident and they changed bits , I tried to call today but just got answerphone . I Also saw a German LHD in AUTO TRADER , link below . ( I am in Valencia so prefer a lhd but scarce to find quality cars with good history in Spain ).

Nothing wrong with the steering wheel, they are just jealous because they have base model steering wheels.
That front end makes the elephant man look shaggable. What's wrong with people who do that?

Base model = every other RS 6 in the country bar the 62 'plus' models that were imported.

I saw and drove that car.Few stone chips, there is a big black mark on the driver seat, dasboard looks like something have been spilled down there. DIS is in german, could not understand a bit, all I knew was the tyre pressure monitor warning light was constantly on.
There was a lot of vibrations when driving, maybe low tyre pressure or something else. Box appeared OK, no slipping, all gears engaged well, incl reverse. The engine was misfiring slightly from cold.
The main thing that put me off was that there was NO SERVICE BOOK and only few service inspection statements, all in german except one or two from Northampton Audi, the last service record statement from 2009 (brake pads service, as far as I remember). Nothing since, no date of the cambelt change.
I asked the Bristol Audi representative to check the car through their system, all he could get out of their net was a pre-delivery inspection in 2002. No other service record ever since.
I think the dealer is still bit optimistic about the asking price, although it was about £13000 (!) back in Feb 2012.
