Feeling very, very smug. Well, a bit less smug now that I've looked them up and they're only 400 horses, but plenty smug nonetheless.

Anyway, I'd just put my refurbed alloys back on complete with new rubber and new TPMS and noticed that the disks were a bit rusty, so obviously the best thing to clean the rust of is a decent blast. Any excuse is valid, in my book.

Anyhoo, I'm off out in the country lanes and all is well and good. Then what do I see when I came to a give way with the 'main' road but a black Panamera that flashes by reasonably quickly.

"Oh my God", I think, "at last some decent RS6 bait." So without much in the way of rational thought, my foot goes flat to the floor on the loud pedal and off we go, traction control warning flashing at me frantically. In no time I've caught him up and then when he spots me I see the 2 little tell-tale puffs of smoke from the exhausts and he's off. Problem is, I don't think it has the effect he was hoping for because next time he looked back, I'm even closer than before.

We get up to silly speeds on B roads and I'm delighted at how easily I can close the distance on him.

He slows down, peels off right, then there's the puffs of smoke again and we're off for round 2. I'm on him like a bad case of herpes. Eventually we come to a 50 zone and we do the sensible thing. Then, surprisingly, he pulls off and parks, facing the wrong way. I figure this is his way of letting me pull up so that we can compare notes, so I duly oblige.

I see one green looking passenger, and one slightly baffled looking porka driver. He doesn't roll down his window (mine was down) so I just waved and he waved back. Then back home and 10 mins idling in the garage for the temp to come down from 120°C.

Shame my car was so filthy, although thinking about it, that was probably the salt in his wound. Pwned by a dirty old estate. :boots:

*Chuckle*

I love this car.

Unfortunately I was drinking a can of coke and it was in the dash drink holder. The can stayed in, but most of its contents are now all over my center console. Ho well. Price worth paying.

By the way, what's the difference between an S and a 4S?

Never. Don't like to tempt the devil. And I've never found it intrusive like, say, in the Focus ST.

Nice, I drive with the TC most of the time too. You'd smash a Panamera GTS too... a turbo version, not so sure. There's reports of those doing consistent low 3s to the 60 (with LC).

I really cannot get over how quick my RS6 feels after MRC did their thang, it's like a slingshot, the way it launches just blows me away. The force smacks you in the stomach, and I still don't believe the way the speedo climbs, the way I've overtaken other cars like they are standing still. It is magnificent. Also, when you're doing 80-90 MPH, slip it into fourth, and just feather the throttle, the way it climbs is UNREAL. Good kill, Shop. :kissmyrings:

Nicely done, I loved the 911 whatever it was again that I took down repeatedly the other month coming back from Cornwall too. I don't think that I am the only one that thinks his isn't fast enough yet? I know I won't feel my job is done until mine is up to 600 at least with a gearbox beefy enough to handle it. Problem is that I keep spending my cash on other things all the time. This month's money is all going on modifying the Cupra R 225 I bought for madam after her car got driven in to. The thing is waaaaaaaay too slow for me (Hey, I've been spoiled) and on the 2 occasions where I have driven it, I have been in 3 figure land screaming for the speedo to move faster!

Annoyingly and unsurprisingly, it costs a quarter of what the RS6 costs to mod.....
