Rear Discs - alternative to main dealer?

Post by bud-weis » Tue Jun 05, 2012 9:49 pm

Excuse my ignorance, but I've tried searching and still can't find a definitive answer.

I need to buy rear discs and would ideally like to avoid paying £800 from the dealer.

Is there an alternative for oem? Or do I need to look aftermarket?

Drilled.

I've seen some aftermarket ones but not in this country, although £400 with pads might be worth the extra work, but I was wondering if there was a trusted supplier here. :biggrin3:

Try DSGWagen...they did me front and rears for a grand...I'd imagine rears would be around £350-£400

Textar and Zimmermann do rear disks for the RS6.

Eg:

I'm a courier and deliver loads from here
http://www.mtecbrakes.co.uk/

Prices seem good, they get repeat custom and customer service seems good. Not heard of any problems.

You would hear of a problem if someone ordered some disks for an RS6. The only reference they have for the car are the rears and they are coming up as 256mm diameter, whereas the actual diameter is 335mm.

I have seen this exact same problem with many other parts suppliers and even ordered some for a laugh. Obviously they were completely the wrong disks for the RS6.

If you like them, you should warn them that if someone orders those disks for the RS6 then they'll be sent back.

Cheers mate, I enquired about the ones on eBay, €45 delivery on top of a reasonable price makes it a great deal if theyre decent quality.

45€? Should have been 15€.That's what you get for asking instead of using "buy it now". :)
