Valuation

Post by Midds » Fri Mar 16, 2012 5:20 pm

Hi all

Where's the best place to get a valuation on my car? I have the opportunity to step into a C6 RS6 owner by a friend of the family (he's buying a Maserati Granturisimo MC Stradale) for a great price. I want to price it to sell without doing myself out of cash. There seems to be a lot of variation in listed prices across Pistonheads, Autrotrader and other markets.

Car is a 2005 (late model) RS6 avant in Daytona Grey with Black interior. Car is standard throughout and doesn't quite have 50k on the clock. Wheels are unmarked and it has just had a £9k warranty overhaul including all main seals (front and rear crank, gearbox, oil cooler etc), new oil cooler and pipes, 4 news discs and pads and other work. It has a cobra alarm / immobiliser fitted. current MOT and full years tax with private R6 plate. I'm the second owner from new.

Whaddya think?

If i can't get what i want for it, i will pass on the C6 and let it go in PX for his Maserati as my C5 is brilliant.

Thanks
Midds

Why not see what they would offer on the C5 against the Maserati? The chop it in and give him the difference in trade in for the C6??

Far too sensible. I'm just guessing there could be some ownership red tape that could occur in that trade?

If he is a real friend, stop him buying the maser!
Daytona RS6 C5 Avant. Viper'd, Billies, Waggers, MTM box brain, C6 stoppers, xcarlink, R8 coolant cap (woohoo)
///M3 E46 | XC90 (V8, natch) | Passat GTE | RR Classic V8 flapper

Clearly he's not a 'real friend', the man is going to get a good deal on the C6 while his 'friend' is going to end up in a Maser.

Dave talks sense

is the dude is going to p/x it, just p/x the C5 and pay the difference up to the C6 trade price

why would your "friend" want to make any money from you

I love the 'enemy' and 'mistake' comments... Hehehe

To be fair, the Maser is utterly amazing, I would if I had the cash!

Just finished a spirited drive home and Ioved every mile, but I can't help wondering how it would have gone in a C6...

you wont sell it quickly for £15.5k

prob £13k if you want a quick sale ... its worth more, but a fire sale is a fire sale

Hmmm I figured you might say that. I don't really want to let it go that cheap as its another £2.5k I am finding against the C6 which I would also be stretching myself for. The running costs are no issue, it's just the readies to buy the car and I own the C5 outright

yeah but if your getting the C6 for a song then its swings and round abouts ?

the C5 will cost you £2.5k more than the C6 to run in the next 12 months on repairs !

That's probably a piece of sage advice...
