RS6 1, STi 0

On my way to work I met a bloke in a new scoobie STi, first we were "slow-racing" inside a traffic jam which was kind of fun (and the national sport here) but then we left the congested road for another one that ran alongside the river, 2 lanes but numerous traffic lights and because of overnight snow it was very slushy with bands of snow lining each lane. From second gear the RS6 blew by the scoobie really...he could hang on for a second or so when my box leisurely shifted from 2nd to 3rd but after that the scoobie disappeared pretty quickly.
I then realised I was doing 100mph on soggy snow and a road that was straight only by Russian standards. Takes a little while to slow down 2+ tons in these conditions but I'm still here to write about it.
STi very clearly had a different exhaust because it was loud, kind of sounded like equal length headers as well (not as good as scoobies usually sound, more of a 4-banger rattle) but I'm guessing he must've had the stock turbo on there or I wouldn't waltz past him like that. The 6 does positively rip in -4C ambient it has to be said. STi driver was a good sport and we exchanged a little salute.
Last week I also had a mini race with a new A6 TFSI and afterwards the bloke scrolled down the window and asked my gf (who had to translate) wtf I had under the bonnet of that "rocket". Gotto love Russians sometimes. And the fact that there are no speed cameras.
