So the TV switch over to free view is happening soon end of this month if im not mistaken i own an rs6 for a few weeks and soon i will only be able to get static reception through the tv :( bad times, is there anything we can do to fix this problem with out buying an aftermarket head unit?

I'd like to know the answer to this too!

also is there a adapter to allow a tv source in via a composite connection? This would then allow videos to be played from a digital source with a inverter

oh Amanda you show off..lol! :assflash:

I have the rnse in my plus, did you get the genuine vag freeview, or an aftermarket one?

really don't want an external remote, i'd like it all integrated in the head unit, how fussy am i! :biggrin3:

If you have RNS-D and are happy with it but want an external AV source then there is no need to waste a fortune 'cough' upgrading to a RNS-E unit which is also a bit low tech when compared to today's flagship aftermarket models.

http://nav.tv/category/7/63/220 - It will be the NAVAVT that most will be interested in, I have one wired in myself, but have nothing connected to it currently. I was all set for wasting well in to 4 figures 'upgrading' from my RNS-D to RNS-E with bluetooth etc but the ONLY advantage I got was keeping the DIS for sat nav information on the dash (don't have the hideous 4 spoke multifunction steering wheel, sorry Amar!), that's it...

I still haven't made up my mind fully yet but think that I will need to give myself a real slap if I do cave in and get RNS-E instead of a far better aftermarket unit. Just have to be prepared for the non-factory look in the centre console is all.

i know what you mean mate,

i had my allroad and took out the rns-d and put in a double din kenwood, it had everything! and the freeview was excellent, and had the optional card input for the ppv channels.

but i also want to keep the oem look in the car without the remote eye i had to have for the kenwood freeview. all i really want is the dvb-t box, but they are a ridiculous price!

and as for you Amanda...  i'm impressed!! you have the perfect rs6, i'm well jel..ha!

Kenwood 7240bt mate. Not top spec but a bloody ace piece of kit. Sold the reverse camera that came with it, may be should have kept it

thats almost identical to what i had, and i would go back to it but i like the rnse, and if i change to aftermarket i loose the display readout in the dash.

the kenwood touchscreen was awesome though, for me its the best aftermarket headunit out there.

Yeah It's tight in there. Shame you can't remove any panels inside the hole to store some of the cables

thats what i thought, in the allroad i seem to remember having to take out the metal plate beside the glovebox,it gave me a bit more access. the problem is you want to be so neat with the cables, even when you don't see them!

Is that one of the two Autoleads fascias that I have seen dotted around the tinterweb when looking previously? The other real bugger for me is how the aftermarket ones I have seen all sit proud when in a fascia.
