I had mine done on the S3 by 4rings, good job and price too. They also offer a mobile service.

There is no need to take the engine out to change the cambelt, where did you get that from? The front has to come off but that's about it. Any good mechanic should be able to do the job but I'd only be willing to let the likes of Camberly Audi, MRC or Unit20 do it. If I recall aren't AMD down your part of the world? Maybe work trying them.

I have seen this job butchered by Audi - belt changed with tippex, camshafts end mashed. Shocking. A good mechanic could do it, but you need the right tools.

How about QST in Haywards Heath ? They're not a million miles away and should anything go wrong down the line, you've a far better chance of a decent back-up/support

Make sure they use the correct locking tools ....I had another car last week that had been tipex marked ....

Hi Tony,

MRC ain't that far away, 5 mins from the M40. I've recently been in to Doug, had belt and all the bits done, aswell as the gearbox oiled & serviced. Considering all the butchers & stealers out there, IMHO I'd rather make the extra effort and get it seen and worked on by the best in the business.

What happened to AMD becoming site sponsors? They turned up briefly, promising lots of participation, denied any connection to other AMD sites on their website then disappeared!
