Euro envy solved
I picked up a used, but flawless pair of recaro Sport, toplines...They are nearly perfect and I paid $1k for the set. The brackets, custom from wedge and sliders cost me another $450...should have them bolted in about 2 weeks...only problem is damn airbag light will be permanent...

They look like the ones that are in fast Fords, I'll admit I'm not excited about them. They look cheap IMWO.

Sorry but +1. If I wanted to start striping out/lightening the RS6 I would just buy another car for this purposebam_bam wrote:They look like the ones that are in fast Fords, I'll admit I'm not excited about them. They look cheap IMWO.

I've messed about with enough seats and airbags in my time with S8s, you may be able to code the airbag locator out, if not just pop a resistor in its place.

Yep, I have read u can plug resistors in to trick the airbag system. As for quality, that is a last generation iPhone pic, so it's crap. I have recaros in my V, they are beautiful. Sadly AoA didn't offer the option on the one year they imported the RS6. Heck, I'm one of those owners, who doesn't leave well enough alone. My engine, trans, suspension, wheels will attest to that. The car is sublime, the seats are actually well made, and btw in the US they are 1500.00 a piece, w/o heater, electronics, motor. I was torn on buying a full euro set up. There is only 1 set in the US, front and back, with door cards, $4500.00 + shipping. I passed. I was too hesitant to. Customs is a PIA. My fronts, at least the drive side was very worn. In the end I am happy, that's all that matters.

Don't forget illuminated airbag lights are an MOT advisory until the spring after which time they'll be a failure.

He's a Yank... I don't think UK MOT regulations are going to bother him.Phill R wrote:Don't forget illuminated airbag lights are an MOT advisory until the spring after which time they'll be a failure.

It's a fail here in the states as well with the DMV. I found a resistor kit for aftermkt seats, problem solved.

I bought a set of Electric Black Nappa leather versions of these and imported them from US - fitted them to my old M5. Made a huge difference in weight, and were very comfy. I loved them. But a bitch to fit - had to take passenger airbag sensor out of original seats and fit to new ones - very messy - but fixed coding issues.
