5 years on

Post by johnny11 » Sat Jan 21, 2012 1:14 pm

Well i`ve had the rs6 5 years to the day, and i`ve never kept a car that long, the longest before this was 3 years, but i still got no intention to change as it still ticks all the boxes. I think i will give it a wash tomorrow and its booked in next week to a gearbox oil service too. In the 5 years of having it it had a few items replaced, within 6 months of buying the 6 the propshaft was replaced under warranty, then the drc and valve, ah yes then the RNSE was replaced as that failed of course under Audi warranty. Then the oil cooler and pipes at the front of the car were replaced as precaution as corrosion was setting in, done by Grizz, and finally i had the famous 60k alternator failure last year. The car is still standard and the only 2 upgrades i will do when i finally get the time is Miltek and replace the DRC.
But 5 years on and it still makes me smile every time i drive it.

Love to hear good news stories about the 6. They are so very special. Have now made mine part of the permanant collection and hopefully it will be making me smile in 20 years (assuming I make it that far, and that there is still petrol).

Get that plus for 12.5k.

If you wait too long all the good ones will be gone. Like the RS2 today.

Six years and a month for mine - and 100,000 miles near enough.

Done more with mine - including a thorough wash inside!!

Listened to my wife drive off in it last night - what a sound! (And yes, she did come back!!)

Time for a wash, new headlight switch and drivers door lock before bedtime I think - more collateral damage from the flood!

Broke - but still having fun!

Dave

I will have had mine for 7 years in June of this year. Bought it at 1 year old, one owner 5900 miles on clock.

Would I do it again?? Hell YES. I've had so much fun in this car, the looks, the performance (able to embarrass virtually everything I would meet on a daily basis), the practicality and the equipment, it's got it all.
Expensive to run, but wow what a sound and the POWER!! It still impresses me. :)
