So. I Purchased the car privately end of august 2011 and noticed the rust in the rails. Knowing that Audi have a long anti corrosion warranty I thought I'd try the local stealers.....................so hear it goes think its best if I bullet point this lol
> went to stealers (tail end of August) where they took photos of rust, took details of car and performed a paint depth test... Which it past
> waited for some sort of response phone call or letter maybe? But nothing
> returned to stealers three weeks later, where I was told we were just waiting! For what I wasn't too sure lol.
> two weeks past still nothing. So another visit to stealers, with same result. This time told that it can take a long time for these sort of things to get sorted???? Why is beyond me.
> so it's now a long time since first visit. It's probably November by now. And just to recap I've still had no phone call no covering letter, not a word to say that this was even being looked at.
> iam starting to get really pi**ed by now and getting a little more forcefull. So a get a phone call after another visit to the stealers saying that they are waiting for Audi uk to make a decision on the car
> still no conformation by phone or letter and it's now the Christmas holidays. So I go in between xmas and new year and ask the girl on the desk how I make a complaint about the level of service iam receiving. She kindly puts an email together expressing my complaints and sends it to stealers manager, body
Shop manager and branch warranty manger.
> I leave the stealers and have a phone call within 20 mins, stating that it's now in hand and to "please bare with us as its the holidays and most people with influence over this are on hols". (granted)
> so two days ago I get a phone call from the body
Shop representative, explains that Audi uk have authorised the work to be completed but NOT under the warranty but as a "GOOD WILL" gesture
> good news you would think.... But wait, they said they are only going to contribute 70% of the cost and therefore asking me to contribute the remaining 30% which works out to be £342.
> somehow I think iam being done here. They say it's not under warranty because under the terms of the 10 year anti corrosion, it covers panels from corroding from the inside out and not the type of corrosion.i have. But it's already been assessed by them that it's not caused by neglect, crash damage or scratch etc.
> so the local stealers aren't moving on it and say I've got 28 day to get the work done or money will not be released by Audi uk otherwise
> I've rang Audi uk and had the same over the phone with them, but have now placed a complaint with them, so that's the story so far as this was today. I should have a response within 24 hours from them.
I find it hard to believe that cosidering they are willing to pay 70% , why wouldn't they just pay the 100% for the sake keeping a customer happy that will quite easily return for future work and parts etc.
Also it's almost costed the wrong way round..... If the warranty was truly no use I this case surely a good will gesture would be for them to pay a little towards it and leave the majority to me, its as if by covering 70% of the cost they are excepting 70% of the liability??? That just my opinion.
There are other bits and bobs but it's just too much to add.
So well. For all of you that are well and truly board and got this far, I would be greatful for any comments good or bad. And all advise is welcome
