Our engines are worth thier weight in Gold...

Post by speedtrapped » Thu Dec 08, 2011 3:07 pm

Some that have read my introductory thread know that I had swapped my original engine and driveline for a modded less mileage version that i came across cheap.
So for the last 7 months I have had a fully operational cosworth and rebuilt trans in storage. I wasnt sure what I was going to do, thought about blueprinting the engine, and making it a monster...alas $ is too dear.
A Shop in the states, Redline Speedworx(NNJ) do phenomal work and engine builds reached out to me. They have a customer who has an S6 avant and some $ burning a whole in his pocket.
They paid me $7k for the engine, $1k for the diff and rear end. After hanging up I realized I should of asked for $10k...the engine ran great, and had 71k miles on it........
I am taking cash.

Wow. I almost bought one for low mileage one for 2500€, complete other than the turbos. Maybe I should have when I had the opportunity...

Sounds like there could be a market for exporting RS6s and parting them.

If the thought of it didn't make me want to cry, I'd consider it :)
