Its a minefield !! All dependent on poscode etc Admiral was my choice for well under £700. Im a little younger than thou with a few points. :) Good multicar deal if you need it. You should be able to find a better one than that. Do all the comparison sites and then a few individuals. Lloyds did me a good deal on the other car today via go compare.

Another thumbs up for Admiral...

Adrian Flux quoted silly numbers to me. Admiral were at £800. Low 40s, over a handful of points, mods declared, central london and over a decade of no claims.

Also try Sky Insurance (the guys on here).

I'm also with Admiral, 41 with a clean licence and well over 10 years no claims. I paid around £400 this year. The wife is also on the car and it's not always garaged. Oddly the quote was cheaper when I said I didn;t always put the car away, I asked why and it's down to being a fire risk in the garage. So don't assume that having the car tucked away means it's least of a risk to the insurers.

Also go and check your post code as that is a major factor in the cost. Although I think they make it up as they go along. I was with Aviva last year at a cost of £440, their quote this year was £590 and when I asked why the massive raise the asnwer stuned me a little. "It's because you have moved into a high car crime location, sir." Now I haven't moved house and the published figures for where I leave show that it has one of the lowest car crime rates in the country.

Another vote for Admiral multi-car. I am 37, have 6 years no claims and 3 cars on the policy; scoob turbo wagon, 500bhp Holden and the Plus - all for £1200. The Plus works out about £400ish for me and the wife to drive I think.

One good thing about getting older! :)

Mart.

My dad on the plus with LV £319

Me on the plus with Admiral £2k

Being young has its disadvantages!

Admiral are chucking out policies at really cheap prices I couldn't justify going with them though knowing there is about a 65% chance they'll be no more by the time my 12 months would be up meaning I'd have no insurance when they go bust.

Stupid they can continue to sell policies in the manner they are, they + Elephant are doing what they can though I guess to try and get in money before they either go broke or pay the debts.

That said if they get in 100+ policies and 25 people claim there worse off than before. God knows what happens if someone wrecks there car and they fold prior to payout? does that mean you've lost a £25k car? with no money coming back? who would you pursue for the loss of the car or money if they no longer existed.

I didn't know that they were struggling. Have used both Elephant and Admiral in the past and Admiral had awful customer service. I wouldn't use them again
