There is a mugello 6 in west London for sale at £14974 29k on the clock I cant seem to copy the link sorry

/// Its on the trader
At first glance looks a very tempting car and it still could before some one.... but I went to see it today and its in need of some real work and tlc.

CV gaitor nearside is shot and covered in fluid, it has had 3 panels at least sprayed with overspray on the inside arches and damage to the skirts. The wheels are all being refurbed and it needs two front tyres. Its due a service and has some internal damage to the speaker housing and armrest. Its a bargain for sure and the dealer talks a good game and suggests he prepping it all but just in case anyone is travelling a long way to see this may either help in negotiation or may save you a journey. I went will all the intention of offering but the car has only covered a few thousand miles in the last 3-4 years which cant be good for it. Its not for me.

On the plus side the engine looked and sounded in my limited exp, v tight. Brakes are ventilated and ok discs, pads. Electrics and eerthing inside such as leather etc was OK. Should be prepped by Weds if it helps!

Had a quick look at the ad. It's a low miles car for sure if it has a proper history to match.
I'm typing this from home so cannot check the car on the Audi dealer system until Monday - PM me if you're seriously looking at it and want it checked.
I'm not one to jump to conclusions however the sellers spelling / grammar does make me think they're not, shall we say, main dealers. As such you might not be getting much in the way of a warranty.
Have you asked SPECIFICALLY about the health of the DRC / gearbox?
Body repairs as you have stated would appear to take the shine off it a bit, but then it is a 7 year old car, and anybody can be unlucky.
I'd be pushing for:
1. 4 new tyres (as the old one will be hard rubber and useless if old),
2. a warranty that the refurbished wheels are not buckled or cracked (if they refurbished at "Pristine" in Milton Keynes they will check this),
3. an inspection by MRC which you volunteer to pay for to know what you need to spend money on next...
4. Price a warranty from the usual suspects.
If all the work were completed to your satisfaction it would appear you've found a nice and very low miles one!
In my fave colour!

Hi chaps
i called round to see the cra as its not far from me. i took me ages to find the place as i could only find a cra wash. low and behold the garage was attached to the side of it. basically there was no one there but on of the guys from the car wash came over. i asked if he was the owner (he said no) when i said i was interested in the 6 he called the owner. he seemed ok on the phone, said the car had a full audi service history but just had the cambelt service done at an indi in feltham (because it was £400 cheaper) it looked a clear car (i couldnt get inside it) but the dealer said the wheels had been done (from wheer i stood the rims were fine but the 2 typres need replacing)
he said he would email with a price for my CL65 but i havent heard from him - shame as i am interested in changing

I met the guy ( Shamir) I think hes called when I was looking and he took me over to other side of London where the car was having wheels etc done. Its been resprayed along the right left side( see under wheel arches for overspray). The rear rings were all wonky and quite a lot of scratches all over. The left front cv boot was gone and loads of fluid in there so check its been fixed. No history oin DRV+C or cam belt I could find.... lts of damage to speakers, armrest etc internally needed doing. Yes tyres were down and from memory it needed a service now. I would suggest it would warrant a full check over. I didnt think the car had been looked after and its a bodge job to get it up to speed. I also think the car was left in London on a street somewhere for months without being used hence so low miles etc. Minimum history in the file. Depends what your after but I had to walk away as it it didnt sit right with me. just my 2p worth....

I did thik it was a little strange. Did you have a look through the history? He said it was a oneowner car so would have thought the history would have been easy enough to track?
I don't get filled with confidence the more I think about it but happen to have an open mind.

Thanks aka. I don't mind spending the money and appreciate there are dogs out there. I've spent the bestbpart of £10k getting my merc asi want it this year.
I guess the key thing for me would be verifying the mileage as if nits correct and I need to spend £5k I know it would be a keeper (for a year at least going on my current form

£1000 a time. Funny you should say that Dave. In 1992 everytime my Dad's Audi 200 Quattro had a problem it was a £1000 then so at least the increase in fix price has kept below inflation!!! Powerful Audis - inflation beating investments???

I like your logic
There are still plenty of good RS6s out there with proper history and not being sold from behind car washes.
That probably won't last though. I get the impression that the number of good cars remaining is in exponential freefall.

Like all performance cars, when they arrive at a certain pricepoint they get into the hands of the 'wrong' sort of people who don't give the car the care and attention it needs. An RS6 will quickly go sour if it's not looked after I'm afraid.

I did have a look through but as I mentioned there was no reciepts or addtional history than that in the service book.....
I did look at a car in Ealing.
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3233711.htm Daytona with Silver nappa. Low miler and good history. Drove well and just out of a service. The wheels needed doing and it had a couple of scratches but overall nice car I felt. Cam belt etc all done but I wasnt sure if he had the docs for the drc being done... he suggested he would get them if needed. IMO it was an ok car but he wants a lot of cash for a standard motor. If you are still looking then this might be a shout but work on the price. I told him what it booked for and he nearly fell over poor chap.

Whoa that is pricey. Would need to be just serviced, belts and DRC with paperwork or coilovers, recent brakes, wheels refurbished, new tyres and completely unmarked bodywork to get anywhere near that money. At least its had RNSE fitted.
