Which would you buy?

I've looked through all the cars on eBay/Pistonheads/Autotrader and these are the only two I'm considering. I'd like to read your thoughts on the two, let's see if you can sway my decision. Currently, I'm swaying towards number one.

Number one is Ecain63's old car. It's in my favourite colour combo and I do prefer the Avant, its had all the mods I'd do bar hotchikins arbs and gutted cats already done, and another bonus is the natural leather. Downsides, it's still on the original gearbox and now on 102k, it's missing a headunit, needs RS 6 mirrors and was due a service when Eddie sold it a good few months back which still hasn't been done. It's on sale at £11,500. I'd need to pop an RNS E (I have fitted one in the past) so that's about £600, a service £500, and new mirrors will be another £5/600 I'm guessing? So it comes to around £13k when I've got it how I want it.

Number two is this mugello saloon, it was once owned by an RS246 member and had a new gearbox by Audi under 20k miles ago, it's been to MRC a few times for health checks etc and is low mileage at only 82k. Although mileage doesn't usually bother me (much) I think this one may be worth a few k more come resale time? The £11,995 price also includes a cambelt change. It's on Coilovers, but bar that completely standard.

I'm aware of running costs and live 20 mins from MRC so am prepared for how pricey it can get. The guy who brought my S8 put it perfectly. He's always wanted a V8, and petrol prices aren't getting any cheaper, so why wait!?

Ed's old car is a cracking motor, wen't pretty cheap from him and can't believe it hasn't been serviced since (9 months??)
No head unit isn't a problem cause i would change it from rns-e/d anyway to a kenwood.
102k on first gearbox is amazing and goes to show ifyou look after them they will last.
Guessing the owner didn't realise the running costs of the car due to it not being serviced and also the headunit and mirrors missing? Would give it a thorough going over first!!

Not overly keen on the C5 saloon and the blue wouldn't be my first choice either but alot of car for the money.

I've just been offered probably the best RS 6 around, I'm going to see if I can find some extra Benjamin, if I can, I'll be the happiest RS 6 owner in the world. I'm excited at even the prospect of getting my mits on this baby, I won't be able to sleep tonight!

I don't want to say anything as the owner hasn't advertised it, but it's a very special one. Keep your opnions coming on the others though encase I can't raise enough for the 'other one'

Imho the best RS6 out there was a Sprint Blue Plus on pistonheads with 19000 miles on the clock, but only if you are going to leave it standard. If you are going to modify one any good clean example with history should do especially if it's a forum known one.

Could someone answer me a simple question, does the RS 6 have a 5 or 6 speed box?

The first one is one reason i bought an RS6. Beautiful car and credit to the previous owner!

Only downside is it's on the original gearbox.

I'd still take it ahead of the other one purely because it's an Avant.
