I put an xcarlink in that I'm very happy with. Good sound quality, charges my iphone and you can select playslists and tracks from the steering wheel / head unit. Oh, and you don't lose the CD changer.

That's exactly the one I've got. Works fine with RNS-D.

It takes the audio output from the ipod. So you play whatever you want using the ipod / iphone and the sound comes out the car.

Yeah, I've got the bluetooth module but I haven't fitted it yet.
I figured I'd just go ahead and buy it since it's so cheap. I want to wire it into the OEM microphone, but haven't had time.

Another question do you know if i would need the one for the RNSe or RNSD seeing as though it has been retro fitted ?

I would have thought RNS-E. Did you have to change the CD changer when you upgraded?

Sorry to hijack thread but this looks great as I have been looking to get somehting that I can connect my HTC Desire to which has loads of music on.

How easy are these to fit?

Cheers

They are very easy to fit. You unplug the CD changer, plug it into the xcarlink and the xcarlink into the CD changer socket on the headunit. You also need to connect the earth cable - I just screwed it to the back of the RNS-D.

My installation was a bit tricky because I put the xcarlink in the center console next to the handbrake so I had to remove a lot of trim to run the wire to the head unit.

Sounds great - I was thinking of putting the USB version in the glovebox as I dont have an IPOD. How do you remove the radio unit? is this with special keys or can you access from teh side or omething?

Cheers

You need 4 extraction keys to remove the headunit. Don't even think of trying to remove it without them.

Like this:

You can easily put the xcarlink on top of the glove box and have the cable for the iphone hanging inside, but I wanted it in the center console.
