Thanks to the boys at MRC

My coilovers are now on the car and ready for action. What a difference from the broken DRC. First impressions on the FK's; the ride feels a little firmer but not uncomfortable. The drive home started off quite bouncy but ended feeling a little more settled, so it's going to take a few days for it all settle down completely. The car now seems to have a lot less understear.

Once again the usual great service and they kept on making me coffee all day long.

Max, I've gotta ask. Did MRC have anything to say about the FK kit? Are these coilovers adjustable? Has anyone else actually fitted these to a '6?
I know the B5 boys use them but it's a lesser car (weight wise).

I did ask for an oppinion from a few of the guys in the workshop, they didn't have anything good or bad to say about the kit. I may have been a first. One thing that was mentioned was that the Billies don't supply the oil where as there was a good sized can with this kit, so plus marks there.

Yes you can adjust the ride height of the kit but not the damping, which I'm more then happy with as I wasn't looking to do anything fancy other then remove the DRC. Most of the time I'm on the M4 heading towards London and back home again, so don't have a real need to adjust anything.

Yes the kit is rated for the RS6, I did check that out before hand.

If it's rated for the RS6 then it must be alright, it used to be that only 2 or 3 coilovers were rated for the C5 RS. I think having some damping options is better but admittedly not a requirement for everyone. Enjoy your DRC-less beast, Max.

It's just a aerosol spray can containing some kind if oil/wax for the shock body/threads.

Whether it actually works I don't know.

its not as if FK are a <beep> company; there just cheaper and also if this makes any sense:

•Zinc plated stainless steel body
•Top quality at a great price
•Indiviually height adjustable
•Individual adjustment through different types of damping
•TUV approved
•Shortened strut housings fore more range of spring
•High quality components for longer durability
•German manufactured

at £729 its not as if FK are a small company there huge...

I put FK's on my rs6 as they were the cheapest. From memory £650ish supplied. The ride wasn't the best with them. Felt alot softer than the standard set up.

If i was keeping the car i would have went for different ones, but i needed it fixed to be able to sell it on.

Cheers
