Wagner Intercoolers

Post by RS6Steve » Sun Jul 18, 2010 7:29 pm

I can't make my mind up, shall I fit them or not bother (stay Standard)?

I think mine will be on their way out shortly. I think I should but is it really worth the expense?

I will be going cat less or 100 cell max...

Worth it. According to one of the dyno posts I read on RS6.com, you should see a 10HP increase from the IC's. I would go cat-less:)

I think the cost gap has narrowed and I imagine they will last longer than OEM.

I was wondering where you had been! Pretty sure I'll be having them now, just need a couple of quotes!

Wanted them before my west country trip in a couple of weeks, but done not look like I'm going to have time :-(

No noise difference at all. And no power increase on a standard map. I know cos I've got 'em and tested before / after ;)

Still totally worth it for peace of mind. Much much better quality that the Audi crap.

You'd possibly see gains on a car running higher boost than standard, but IAT just doesn't get very high on a standard car.

I wouldn't bother with them unless the OEM have failed or you have money to burn - but you will never get any better resale price due to them.

There is a difference in noise when you hit the gas, you can actually hear them suck up the air, far better than standard... Mine I could notice at any rate..
